Justus 7
Hello, I've been trying to set up DVB-C live tv for emby in Germany for days now and have looked through 1000's of forum posts all ending in solutions that don't work for my Windows system, are no longer supported or the like. Emby version: 4.5.4.0 NextPVR Plugin: 3.3.3.0 NextPVR Software: 4.2.4 System: Windows 10 Neither the programs work (black screen and loading sign when clicking), nor the EPG. Is there anyone here who can explain step by step how this should work please, that you can select NextPVR as a program data provider? I see only a paid service and XMLtv. emveepee 112
1. Install V5 with NextPVR with the V5 plugin, if you want support 2. The EPG is not loaded dynamically. Syncing the EPG update in NextPVR with a Emby Scheduled Task is required. Loading the EPG in Emby is very slow although not as painful as Jellyfin so it is best scheduled to be performed daily in off hours. 3. I do have a utility that update Emby guide after you update the NextPVR if creating a scheduled task is not working for you. Martin

Hasn't the support for v5 been stopped? At least I haven't found a download link for the v5 plugin anymore. 2. How do I create the scheduled task in Emby to sync the EPG update? Martin It will be faster in the 4.6 release on account of all of the database performance improvements. I even have more improvements that are coming on top of the existing beta release. But well i deinstall it and download 4.6 maybe a magic miracle will happen and it will just work like that I would suggest updating Emby as Luke suggested then doing what emveepee suggested and upgrade to NextPVR V5 and the plugin as well. He is the author of the plugin so his advise shouldn't be overlooked! If you could try this that would be great. If you get stuck or have any issues let us know and we can provide additional assistance or even remote support if needed. Carlo
Luke 37008
No, you don't need to run the beta server to use the next pvr plugin, as far as I know. The stable 4.5.4 release should be fine.
emveepee 112
We reinstated the plugin but but I still have heard from Luke on whether Emby supports anything but static recording URLs. You create a scheduled task in Emby to update guide. I am sure an Emby users can help you there. The app is my preferred method and doesn't require any tasks in Emby. Here is a V5 netcore version that syncs Emby and JellyFin. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=61786 Martin

But just to clarify, I have to remain with the 3.3.3.0 plugin in emby for NextPVR or is there a new version of the plugin to download somewhere? Solution emveepee 112 Posted February 4, 2021 Solution Share Posted February 4, 2021 I posted the V5 add-on in this sub-forum for testing last week. It is not in the store. It will be one or two threads back. Martin
Justus 7
Thank you! I finally got the EPG on my Emby Server with the V5 Addon and Software. The last bug I fixed that caused nothing to load was the NextPVR base url where there was a / at the end, which apparently caused it to not recognize the url. I now have only one problem: It does not load a stream. If I click on one of the channels, sometimes after a few seconds the black screen of the player appears but either way it loads infinitely long. emveepee 112
You need to confirm that everything is working fine in NextPVR and then if the problem continues you need to upload your Emby log, ie standard troubleshooting applies. Screenshots are only necessary if we ask and typically are a waste of your time. I will trim the base URL in the next test version. Martin

emveepee 112
Post this on the NextPVR forum with your zipped logs. From that snippet it appears you only have IPTV tuners defined so why are you using NextPVR? Martin

Luke 37008
Famous last words I know, but the next build will have some improvements for all of live tv, including plugins. But yes, there will be even more improvements beyond that for the built-in live tv.
