Ahh I see, sorry.

Yes it works with 2.2.0.6, but I do absolutely get the point - It works for me in this scenario but probably somebody else will come who wants it the opposite again.

So I'm aware that my case is quite rare, but I hope you'll find a solution that makes everybody happy 🙂

e.g.

one pipe | all options have to be true
two pipes || just one option has to be true

The ALL logic makes sense there, and you put in the work for the test case, so that's the way it will be going forward. 👍

Ok, 2.2.0 is an official RELEASE.

Thanks for using Iconic everybody.

v2.2.0

  • Filename rule now supports NOT(!) values
  • Filename rule now supports multiple values (|)
  • Fix - Folder specifier was inconsistent

I'm not sure what you changed, but now all my shows display all the icons I defined in all rules, ignoring the folder filter

Sorry. Try BETA 2.2.0.7, and let me know if that corrects things.

Just tried it with devtools open to disable cache, doesn't change anything

Ok, well there's nothing else that comes to mind to try.

What version of Emby are you currently running?

Can I see screenshots of your current rules and an example episode with path?

Think i found a bug - both in current Release and Beta 2.2.0.6/2.2.0.7

image.png.43e173e104a72de7dda70fef7bba72db.png

The above rule applies to the Series correctly but is also attaching itself to episodes if they:

  • appear in Next Up or Continue Watching (I have both enabled)
  • appear in Latest Episodes on the 'TV' library
  • appear in Upoming section on the 'TV' library
  • are a virtual media item - ie you are missing the episode but you have the metadata

Next Up/Continue Watching is most likely showing the Series level image in these cases, not the episode image (or there is no episode level image).

yea that makes sense - its showing the thumbnail from the season level that is the default from my experience.

Is that something that could be looked into?

maybe even if we had the option of which image type to overlay the icon over

ie. if we could chose Icons were only overlayed on the folder/poster image and not the thumb then thumbs for episode wouldnt get the series level treatment

I don't think this is happening.

Usually DV movies have a Codec Tag displayed on the media info on the Movie on Emby.

Also we can use Embeded Title (Contains  = Dolby Vison | DV | DoVi | ....) as a option since i have some of the embeded titles show that on it.

how do you get the codec tag to show even?

I have purchased sub for this plugin through paypal but i am still appearing to be unregistered user.

Thanks for registering.

It can take up to 24 hours for registrations to fully activate on Emby's side.

Also, if you registered with a different email address than your Emby Premiere email address, we'll need someone from the Emby team to update your registration information.

Sorry for the delay, shit happened.

I'm running Emby 4.7.6.0 and IIE 2.2.0.7.

Here are all my series library rules: image.thumb.png.50639dae6e802d7be348cb7f873a4543.png

Here you can see all icons appear on all the series (same on next up thumbnails): image.thumb.png.eada17c858ce88c89236f6659c455be5.png

Example path of an episode of the first item in the collection seen above:

/home/emby/hdr-4k-series/For All Mankind/Season 3/For.All.Mankind.S03E01.MULTi.2160p.HDR.DV.WEBRip.DDP5.1.x265-R3MiX.mkv

Note that everything worked fine on a previous, no longer available (alpha/beta), version of 2.2.

Added note on early 2.2 version working

got an extraordinary request again 🙂

I'k like this to work:

filename rule:

string1|string2|string3 = icon 1
string1|!string2|!string3 = icon 2

use case:
Recent English movies are probably being replaced by ones in German, so I'd like to give them a different icon when they are from 2022 or 2021 than older English movies, which probably won't come out in German.

Unfortunately I don't find a rule set to do what I want.

Here again with how I'd need:

No-German|2021|2022 = icon 1
No-German|!2021|!2022 = icon 2

best regards

I'm new to this plugin and just trying to figure out how to set "HD", "SD" and "4K" badges for my movies folder?? Does anyone have any examples of what rules to use?

Is there a chance to include support for audio-libraries soon? 🙂

I don't know about 'soon', but I am thinking about it.

Sounds like MediaStream rules are what you want:

Maybe, but I'm not doing any new features for awhile, just bug fixes.

I'm probably just not tech savvy enough, because I have applied what I think should work but there are no icons for any of my movies (most of which are 1080p). I have tested it with an English language rule which worked so at least I know the plug in does work, I must just be doing something wrong?

This is what I have applied for my movies folder:

Are you sure your content actually has the 'title' property embedded in the files?

Emby will create a synthetic title on the fly for display purposes when there is no title property, but Iconic only sees the embedded ones.

If you don't have a title property, you can use the Resolution property instead.

I was able to get this working by using the filename rule, as I realised almost all files had the resolution in the title. :)

Another question: I have some libraries of mixed content (example: Documentaries featuring both TV & Movies), is this plugin not compatible? It only seems to appear for my Collections, Movies, Music Concerts, TV Shows libraries.
