Kassad 0
I have Emby server running on a Hades Canyon Windows 10 machine. The files are located on a NAS. I have put off getting Emby Theater on the machine because I didn't see the need. I can stream from my Amazon Fire TV stick, Roku, or from a web browser on the Hades. I don't really need some of the features that Emby Theater provides so I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing from a 'quality of performance' standpoint. I do have quite a few 4k movies on the NAS that I stream; some of them need transcoding, some of them don't play well. I'm curious if there are any performance differences by using Emby Theater on my Hades vs using the chrome browser. Thanks
Luke 37052
Hi, yes there will be a significant difference because the desktop edition of Emby Theater can direct play pretty much everything without the need for transcoding: https://emby.media/emby-theater.html
