pritch33 5
As per title I am trying to change the image Movies by genre folder. I am using Xzener's MB3 V2 Icons for Movies, TV Series and Watched Movies with no problems except for Movies by Genre, all icons (defaults) are inside the folder and all movies are showing. I have placed image in my C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\General\Movies by Genre. I have double my checked spelling and rebooted the server several times and tried different themes but still have clear box, no image. Is there something I am missing here. Thanks Ray
ebr 14910
Unless the image isn't really in the right place, or isn't named properly that should be correct - unless a recent server change has made this stop working.
pritch33 5
Thanks for the reply. I am guessing I have missed some small detail but even after double and triple checking I cant seem to see the problem? My location was copy and pasted as text from the location bar so seems correct? I have double checked and triple checked the actual icon/image spelling and seems good. All other icons (movies. TV &Watched Movies) where setup a few weeks ago after upgrading to the new mb3. I only added the movies by genre a couple of nights ago. I will try the normal IT response next and do a restart of the PC as it is the only thing I have not Tried LOL. ebr 14910
And the name of the image you put in there is folder.jpg?
pritch33 5
Movies by Genre and I also tried movies by genre. Thought it may be case sensitive?
ebr 14910
Your image needs to be named 'folder.jpg' and be inside a folder named 'Movies By Genre' (case won't matter).
pritch33 5
Ok changed the image name to folder.jpg (also all my other images are named the same as the folder they are in IE movie folder image is named Movie and so on) A little confused with .jpg in the title as it a PNG file? Still not showing. Ebr thanks for the help but not a biggie at this stage I'm sure you have more to look at than someone who is missing an icon. I will play around a little more and see if I can get it running on the wife's PC. Thanks
BATTLE DONKEY 98
The .jpg ebr mentioned is the extension, you don't have to type it in. You should have it named just folder(whatever extension, either .jpg or .PNG) same goes for the backdrop(whatever extension) And reboot after for the changes to take effect Edited August 5, 2014 by BATTLE DONKEY
ebr 14910
Yeah, be sure you don't have extensions hidden in explorer and actually have a file now called 'folder.jpg.png'. Just 'folder.png' is what you would want.
pritch33 5
Thanks for all the help guys. I finally got it right I was naming the pic with the .jpg. One more quick question hopefully. Can I change the order of the icons now? The order of them displayed is Movies, Movies by genre, tv and watched movies. I would like movies by genre to be last. Thanks Again Ray
BATTLE DONKEY 98
To change the order u will have to open up ur webtowser and go over to the dashboard. Click the 3 lines in the upper left corner then select metadata manager. On the left side of your screen you will see your folders, movies, TV shows, etc. Select one at a time and on the right side of the screen change the sort order to whatever u wish. Its easiest to just use numbers, 1 for movies, 2 for TV shows, etc. For every category add the sort order field and click save. Only problem is there is no way to assign a sort order to "movies by genre" tho
pritch33 5
Thanks Battle Donkey i will check it out. I assume it will always fall in to order alphabetically?
BATTLE DONKEY 98
Ya, I believe if the sort order is blank they will stay sorted alphabetically
Blueeyiz702 216
this is for movie 71,it shows 3 different genre. can you change the 3 to just one,say war so it only shows up in that genre folder without problems?

Hit the little 'x' on the right of the genres you don't want, then add the ones you do and hit "Save". You can also try out the Genre Cleaner plug-in but, given your example, I'm not sure that will help you since Action, Drama and Thriller are all pretty standard genres that you wouldn't want removed from all items.
