Hi,

Where do you guys get your audiobooks from, that can be played in Emby. Things like audible.com require you to use their own apps.

Obviously don't post here, if not a legal source (PM me instead)

Thanks

Most of mine came from places like "Recorded books" and other sources for books for the visually impaired. I had a good friend that loved books but went mostly blind due to injuries suffered in SE Asia. He amassed a rather huge collection of audiobooks and left that collection to me when he passed due to the same injuries.

I think that places like Amazon also sell audiobooks. Also I think Audible lets you download at least some of their books.

Most of the books I have aquired for myself come from Librivox Their public domain collection can keep even the most voracious reader supplied for 100s of years.

Hi, thanks for the info.

BTW: I have not found Emby to be any good at all for playing audiobooks. The Emby apps just are too hard too use and do not reliably save the resume location.

I use MediaMonkey and I have a seperate system setup to play audiobooks. It has keyboards and remotes set up around the house and the audio can is sent to all my rooms. MediaMonkey can be controlled, to some extent, by Avexa. All I have to do is say "Alexa, Book." And the currently queued book starts or stops playing. It is a toggle. I use "AssistantComputerControl" to achieve that functionality. It was a bit complex to set up but, once I got it working, it is nearly totally seamless.

I purchase audiobooks from Audible, and use inAudible to download and convert the files.

At this point, I have a rather large Audible library (...Audible says I have 186 audiobooks), but I dislike the Audible app because 1) Its sorting functions are limited (eg. you can't sort by Author -> Series -> Series #); 2) You can't change the cover art if you don't like it; and 3) the chapter marks are routinely in the wrong places.
