Spaceboy 2485
definitely agree with the above suggestion, you'll see a massive speed boost from putting the OS and emby db on a SSD of any kind
basset 3
SSD it is then. Will 128gb be sufficient ? Thanks Edited November 15, 2020 by basset
Spaceboy 2485
if its just for emby then you should be fine, if you are thinking of putting much else on the pc you might want to think slightly larger. IMO

Thanks Some (including me) may say Linux. It could help with your budget too. Especially if you aren't doing anything else with the system. It's not for everyone though. Spaceboy 2485
if budget is your concern you can get a win10 pro licence from ebay for less than USD10. works perfectly well though

ebr 14863
16GB of memory would be a good idea as well if not that much more expensive.
speechles 1912
https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/optiplex-7070-micro/cto03o7070mffus https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078DPCY3T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071KNKBQ1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then get an 256GB M2 NVME SSD installed for the OS. https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-256GB-Gen3x4-SP256GBP34A60M28/dp/B07ZGK3K4V The only thing not a smoking deal is the memory and the NVME. I have the DELL Optiplex 7060 MFF with the same 8GB Crucial RAM and the same Samsung 860 EVO SSD. It cold boots in under 20 seconds with Emby up running. It is ridiculously power efficient as well. Does not support a full size graphics card so if you ever wish for one avoid the Micro Form Factor. Otherwise jump all over this it is a smoking deal ATM. All the DELL Optiplex line is on sale ATM. 99% of the time it runs silent even during heavy 4K HEVC -> 1080P H264 you never hear it spin up a fan. Only during boot do I ever hear that fan on the video card whirr up. Edited November 17, 2020 by speechles
