Still no download resume or any kind of rudimentary manager

There is still no download resume after broken connection?? Is this ever going to be sorted?

I love Emby and couldn't be without it, but man oh man is the download "feature" frustrating beyond words.

Crappy connection, 67% downloaded, failed. START FROM SCRATCH ! What now? Why??

Why is the download "feature" so under valued and underdeveloped??

Hi, so we looked into this, and the download manager we're using already will retry and resume up to five times with a one second back-off in between each attempt. That's all built into the download while it's happening.

So we already have that.

Now if you're talking about leaving the partial file behind, and then coming back to it later and attempting to resume, that is a whole other ballgame and much more complex, because as you can probably guess, there is a danger of leaving waste behind on your device and clogging up your free space.

One second seems too quick for me - if one is briefly out of signal, five seconds is a very short time to give for the signal to return.  Though of course there's also the timeout before failure to add in, how long is that?

Android downloads have been shockingly bad for several years now. It's best to just pretend the facility doesn't exist.

the sad part is it's a premiere (read paid) feature.
