Thats not correct. that's MY HOLE POINT the server does not downmix it the client does.

"in the past i had the downmix to stereo option enabled in the Andorid TV app"

yes it does - and the downmix to stereo in the ATV app is still there as an option

you did install the Emby Android TV version of the app and its actually installed on a Genuine ATV certified hardware - not some cheap ass chinese knock off?

And you submitted the in-app logs from the Android TV app to @ebr to look at ?

Looks like a lot of transcoding and/or remuxing going on on the server (remuxing is just converting the audio, not the video).

For example on your Fire TV device whilst watching "Star.Wars.Episode.IX.The.Rise.of.Skywalker.2019.2160p.BluRay.REMUX.HEVC.DTS-HD.MA.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos-FGT.mkv":

App: AndroidTv 1.8.29a
Mr's 2nd Fire TV

19:13:14.732 Stream mapping:
19:13:14.732   Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy)
19:13:14.732   Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (truehd (native) -> ac3 (native))
19:13:14.732   Stream #0:9 -> #1:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native))
19:13:14.732   Stream #0:0 -> #1:1 (copy)

The server was copying the video but converting the audio, TrueHD to AC3.

Also converting the subtitles, SRT to WEBVTT.

What were the issues you experienced whilst playing that ?

Also, AndroidTv 1.8.29a is a beta version, for which you are a long way behind - current beta is 1.8.42.

It might be worth updating the app and trying again.

When an issue arise, please send in-app logs.

You need to turn on the DEBUG options within the app to be able to send the logs.

Thanks.

is that log possibly because i have changed the audio setting on the app when in that video to make it play correctly?

can you see the one from 10:28 this morning?

did thatdo the same?

Netflix is irrelevant

if it is indeed a Chinese Knock off then thats probably the root of all your problems

Please looking through all the logs can show different results because i constantly fifing around trying to make it play ( which i don't believe i should do)

my test is 10.28 i played band of brothers on my mobile phone. All legit with the app that downloaded of the play store 3 days ago when i set this up.

my phone god bless it has one speaker, two if i plug headphones in.

5.1 audio on that device would not be correct can we at least agree on that,

what happened in the logs and i will hold my piece

There is a lag in the Google Store recently, but you can sideload, if you know how to do that, by downloading the APK from the Release Notes thread, first post.

That's not the ANdroid TV app though is it.

Your issue is using that app, so you need to stay consistent with the app your using.

ok we will only use the android app from now on. because then we can repeat the whole process on all the devices.

OK.

Play a video from your server, nit Live TV for the time being, and when/if an issue arises, send the in-app logs via the option within the app (debug needs to be enabled before playback starts).

Then post here the time and Emby user in use in the app so that @ebr can make sure he's looking at the correct log.

Only use the ATV app on you box connected to the tv - not anything else

play BB again

then upload the log file from emby

and the ffmpeg log file also in the log directory for that playback attempt
