Once the issue is trigger, it's normal that player will not work any longer.

The player crashed here. I can send you a debug version, IF you can repoduce the core issue.

I'm pretty sure I can reproduce it, not sure exactly how but it's been happening pretty frequent.

Please try with that version and send me the logs.

This version will not fix the issue, I just added additional information in the log.

plugin.video.emby-next-gen-5.1.4-build44-debug.zip 515.65 kB · 0 downloads

Do I just unpack and overwrite everything in Addons\plugin.video.emby-next-gen?

yes, or install via Kodi menu -> addon from zip.

Makes no difference

Ok, I installed the debug version, rebooted. Played Desolation Of Smaug, it worked. I then went into TV-Shows and tried to play Seven Worlds, One Planet - S01E01 - Antarctica Bluray-2160p.mkv and it failed, after that the player must've crashed.

btw, are you using tv-tunes?

I just installed it like an hour ago, didn't have it before, issues were there before as well.

ok, it is still a problem with the artwork:

I'll send you a fix in a few minutes, hold on...

Perfect, thanks for testing. I'll push the new version into repo.

So 5.1.5 will only have this bugfix.

can you both please send me the myvideo db.

@TobyTentakel

Do you have a log file? Would be better to trace the issue, if I could rule out mod skin issues.

Unfortunately, I can't access the file system at the moment, so no log or db file at the moment. I am not using any special skin. Will test again with the latest build you pushed.

Those files needs patches:

.kodi/addons/script.skin.helper.backgrounds/resources/lib/smartshortcuts.py

.kodi/addons/script.skin.helper.backgrounds/resources/lib/backgrounds_updater.py

.kodi/addons/script.skin.helper.widgets/resources/lib/favourites.py

.kodi/addons/script.module.metadatautils/lib/helpers/extrafanart.py

replace  plugin.video.emby  with plugin.video.emby-next-gen

Maybe I can write a script for that.

@Quickmic, Thanks, I dont know if you have the opportunity to write a script as noted in your last reply. However, in the quest to continue to test the gen next with Titan MOD, I made the changes in the files that you specified, but when I tries to change the file back to py form txt I am not able. Attached are files if you can convert and post I will restore back t there folder individual folders then test if it resolved the issue.

Thanks

I can confirm that the issue I had with the external srt subtitles and their language displayed in Kodi is already fixed. I used the 5.1.5 version to test it.

Thanks! Good job!

Running Windows 10 (1909), kodi 19 beta 2, Estuary skin, emby next gen 5.1.5 and syncing two video libraries and a music library. Emby server 4.5.4.0 is running with Kodi companion addon. Using Addon playback mode as well. (Hope I hit all the basics).

Haven't noticed any playback issues as of yet but seeing two oddities, one may be Kodi 19 related for video subtitles and one is related to Music but figured I should flag them both to track.

First is the Music item - I noticed recently that it appears the "Recently added albums" section on the Kodi main page is not updating when new albums are added to the Emby server. The albums themselves are added and can be found within the music section.

Viewing the Emby dashboard does show the most recently added albums properly so it appears to be a sync/Kodi entry scenario. Attempted removing and readding the library but no change, local DB reset also had no impact.

Second for the subtitles...files have the subtitles within compared to separate srt files....while the video file is playing back the user can cycle through the available subtitles but any that have a longer name than the total character count for the little pop up cause a delay switching to the next. This can be painful if a user attempts to cycle through then repeatedly hits the key entry to go to next subtitle only for the commands to queue until the full name is displayed. It sounded similar to the srt item mentioned a few pages back but wasn't certain if that was emby playback or Kodi related.

I still have the weird sync behavior. I watch some tv series, after watching he syncs some movies I didn‘t even watch..

Same here.

Also, when manually refreshing art in Kodi for a media item, I get a hard crash each time. Hopefully I can provide a log soon.

I'm working on the sync issues, can take some time. This is not an easy task. I have a basic idea what causes the syncs.

I've some weird syncs as well, just annoying no inconsistencies so far.

Can you eleborate. I never had that issue. Are you changing the e.g. cover art on emby-server -> Kodi syns and crashes?
