Burrito78 15
Hi there, VAAPI transcoding worked fine a while ago, was getting around 70fps max. Now with the current v4.5.1.0 VAAPI isn't detected anymore. See screenshot below. Logs are attached. Is this a known issue currently with this architecture? Burrito78 15
Yes, but there was no new information regarding Synology and VAAPI. It always has and afaik should still just work out of the box.

Luke 37008
Did you make sure the emby system user is given access to the video group?
Burrito78 15
11 minutes ago, Luke said: Did you make sure the emby system user is given access to the video group? No because i've seen no mention of this anywhere. Also in the linked setup guide there is no info regarding Linux and the video group. But i checked this right now and the emby user already was in the video group so this isn't the issue. Edited October 8, 2020 by Burrito78

Luke 37008
Ok we found the issue. For those of you running the beta builds, can you please try installing the latest beta again over the top of your existing installation? For those who are running the stable version, we'll have those patched shortly. Thanks.

dexus 17
Another issue is that after a while, the emby server is listed as "stopped" in package center, even though it's still running.. This might be the issue.. I tried "running" and the not stopped emby server, and then stopping it again, and it is still running.. edit: Had to uninstall it twice to get it removed from package center, the processes was still active, had to restart the server to get rid of them.. After installing the newly downloaded version, hardware transcoding is now available, and starting stopping the service seems to work again. Good job!
