Audiomixer 327
I’m running the latest server on synology (4.5.0.50) and the latest emby app (1.8.29g) on a Nvidia Shield pro 2019 and have DTS and DTS-HD pass through enabled. I have a file that has the audio as DTS-HD HRA 7.1 and sample rate of 48,000 hz. On playback, my denon x4500 shows only DTS while on plex and Kodi (with emby plug-in) my denon shows DTS-HD Hi Res. All other DTS-HD type files play normally. Is emby expected to play DTS-HD HRA 7.1? Edited September 29, 2020 by Audiomixer

FrostByte 5024
If your file is mkv you can use something like mkvtoolnix to split the file so you can post a small sample on a share site and then PM ebr the link

rbjtech 4170
There are a few official demo files here of DTS HRA - https://thedigitaltheater.com/dts-trailers/ Orchestra Short (Lossless) - https://we.tl/YZfyiSsLmH SFX Short (Lossless) - https://we.tl/l740VJ8GuK I concur with the OP - these play on my Emby > Shield > Denon but only the DTS Core - as verified by the Denon. FrostByte 5024
Test file sounds like DTS 5.1 core using ATV, but my system only indicates Atmos or DTS:X so I can't say 100%. Audiomixer have you tried with the mobile app on the Shield? It has the new version of Exoplayer Edited September 24, 2020 by FrostByte
Audiomixer 327
This one? It will not install. https://emby.media/emby-for-android-mobile.html Edited September 24, 2020 by Audiomixer
FrostByte 5024
No, new Exoplayer is in beta version. You can manually install the apk from the first post Both can be on your Shield at the same time Edited September 24, 2020 by FrostByte

Audiomixer 327
No change with DTS-HD HRA 7.1. Still shows as DTS with the 3.1.24 test app.
FrostByte 5024
You could try one more thing if you want. Change the settings in ATV to use external player and choose the VLC app on your Shield when you click Play. I would, but my receiver only displays the audio codec if it's object based (DTS:X or Atmos). Just to see if it works I'm guessing that's you on the Shield forum https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/shield-tv/9/348327/shield-dts-hd-hra-passthrough-not-working-with-p/ Edited September 24, 2020 by FrostByte
Audiomixer 327
Tried that with both Kodi and VLC as emby external player. Both show DTS-HD Hi Res with that file. Yup, that be me.
FrostByte 5024
Ok, then it sounds like it's definitely Exoplayer if it works as an external player. Luke is working on an Emby version of Exoplayer to fix some of the shortcomings of the released version,
