Hi. There was no playback in the log you sent.  You need to send the log immediately after stopping playback and only play for a few seconds.

However, it sounds like maybe your equipment doesn't support DTS HRA...

As you can see my AV support it.

It is maybe a issue with the exoplayer it need to be checked no sure can you try it with your AV and tell me if it supports HRA 7.1 btw tell me or send me a PM's if you have some issue from the log like no playback on logs or etc...

Kind regards

The other user with this issue said HRA was working for them now.  In reality, Exo doesn't completely support DTS-HD at all but we are "tricking" it into doing it.  It is possible it doesn't work in all situations but it did work for the other user.

Unfortunately, I cannot see any playback in your logs.  Not  your fault.  It is just Android not providing us the information.

When Android will give you the playback logs again just tell me a will send a new logs about it, do you want a sample file to test it? Or you have some MKV and MP4 dts hra 7.1 & 5.1 files?

I have a similar issue...

An .mkv file with "DTS-HR 5.1" Track only appears as "DTS" on my Receiver. (played on the latest emby stable Version from Play Store on my Shield TV Pro 2019)

When I'm playing the same file via Kodi, it shows DTS-HR in the display of my receiver.

What can I do about that?

Can you please play that item for a few seconds and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?

Hey guys,

I also have the same problem...

when I watch on my Shield pro 2019 movies with DTS-HD HRA audio track, they are only output with DTS to the AVR.
I played 2 movies for 10 sec. hope the log is helpful

Dolby Atmos, DTS HD MSTR, Dolby True HD etc... otherwise works fine.

  • Enable Debug under General Display settings
  • Play your movie with HRA
  • bring up the OSD
  • Click the cog wheel and then "Seng Logs"

Other than a couple of demo's - I've never seen DTS HR being used as a popular format.

As far as I am aware, it's effectively Dolby Digital Plus in the DTS world - ie it's lossy and sits inbetween DTS and DTS HD:MA ?

When I play the demo's on my Shield, my Denon AVR recognizes them as DTS-HR (it says so on the display) but they are corrupt and the sound breaks up.  If I try and play with VLC as an external player, they 'play' but I think VLC is converting them to PCM as the AVR just says 'Multichannel' - not DTS-HR.

Are the files you have definitely DTS-HR ?  What does MediaInfo say about them ?

Yes I know that format is rare.
I also think I only have max 10 movies with DTS-HR.
Yes it really is DTS-HR. I create my files only with makeMKV and do not edit them in any other way.

When I play it with VLC it is recognized correctly.

Interesting in stats for nerds it is recognized as DTS-HD.

This could be an Android 11 issue with the latest 'Nvidia Experience' - I'm still on Android 9

But this did previously work as I remember testing it on the original thread ..

We probably need Eric to weigh in here to see if the App is recognising it as DTS-HR or just DTS ..

I compared a few scenes where is a lot of action and music.
Yes I find the sound is more detailed and has more dynamic.

But that is just my opinion
