PGS subs are graphic so, yes, their position is probably fixed at production time.

There needs to be a way on the XBox to move the location of the subtitles up and down. I use this with a projector and it sometimes has them off the bottom of the screen. Font/size and things would be nice, but at minimum some kind of +/- 0 for the location needs to be available. Simply locking it to the bottom of the video is not sufficient.

if  I have 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio... Black bars are displayed on the top and bottom of the TV screen I can't move subtitles on black bar.

I would like to have subtitles as in the picture

Ah, you are saying the position is restricted to within the actual video...hmmm.  That may be a tough one.  I'll look into it.

I think I figured out :)
How to:

first run emby / run movie and click on sub. position set to -1 or -2. exit movie.
restart emby and run movie. that it's :)
emby remembers the last settings in subtitles 👍

emby remembers the last settings in subtitles 👍

You got them to display outside the video frame that way?

Are you playing a different movie?

I'm guessing that movie has the black bars encoded in it.  In that situation, it will work.

Please report your issue in the beta thread.  If you don't wish to help test, you can revert back to the stable release.

Thanks.

Hi. That will not help us identify and fix the source of your issue.  Please report it in the beta area and we can get whatever it is fixed.

Thanks.

Hi

I use an xbox and a projector that is setup for 235.1 to watch emby movies.

When subtitles are presented when watching the wider format movies in 235.1 one line of subtitles hang part on the image frame and the other in the black bar area which is off the screen and unreadable.

Can we have an option to move the subtitles position please. Even other factors as size and colour would be good.

Cheers

I'm a little lost on this thread.

I am running emby on pc via xbox being projected and displayed onto a 235.1 screen.

When I watch a movie in 235.1 my projector will auto fill that screen and any subtitles, especially two lines of subtitles, are pushed to the letter-boxed bars below the visible screen area making them unreadable.

How do I move this up? what is or where can I find this 'sub. position' mentioned earlier? Is this applicable to my circumstance?

Cheers

I’d just like to vote for the ability to move the subtitle position up and down like I can with Kodi and my Oppo player.

Can subtitle positioning be implemented in more clients other than ATV soon?  ATV isn't available on all devices and is supposedly going away at some point.

Here is a pic of PGS subs and what they look like when playing from UHD.

and here is what I see in the standard Android, Samsung, and Xbox apps when using SRT.  One line in the picture frame and one outside.  Not only are my eyes focused too low causing me to miss more of what's above, but it's very distracting with one line in and one line outside the picture.

I actually prefer subs to be as low as possible - so when there's a single line it's all in the bottom black bar not obscuring any of the image.
