A and The

When I was going through Emby Theater I noticed we can use custom CSS. I noticed in Plex that there is a script to allow A, The, and so at the beginning of a title to be included in the title instead of being ignored . I would like to know if there is such a script for Emby? Thanks

not a script or css

its in the \config\system.xml file

BUT - its not retrospective.... only applies to new media - not sure if a full refresh of an item will work

Make sure you shut down the server before you edit the xml

OK Thanks for that, what would I be looking for and need to change? By new media I'm assuming her but do you mean I can say delete a library, reboot for good measure, recreate the library and the media would be considered new, or is there old information that I would have to remove from the database as well? Thanks again.

EDIT:

I'm not finding system.xml

Depending on your platform it is in your Emby programdata /config folder.  The Paths box on the dashboard or a server log should give you the location.  And you will see this in the system.xml.  Yes removing and recreating libraries but Refreshing the metadata should do the job.

  <SortRemoveWords>
    <string>the</string>
    <string>a</string>
    <string>an</string>
    <string>das</string>
    <string>der</string>
    <string>el</string>
    <string>la</string>
  </SortRemoveWords>

Arched based, EndeavourOS to be specific.

It should be in Program data path: /var/lib/emby/config according to your log in another topic.

I have /var/lib/emby-server and emby-theater no /var/lib/emby. I'm going to recheck the folders under emby-server now.

I do not know the platform but you are in /usr and need to be in /var.

	Program data path: /var/lib/emby
	Application directory: /usr/lib/emby-server

alucryd is out until next week. My guess is the system user that the file browser is running under does not have permission to view the folder, so if you can resolve that then I would think that would take care of it.

OK I gave ownership to active user and now have full access as you can see. Do I want to just delete those lines? Also need the commands for stopping the server and restarting it. Thanks

Remove the strings or replace the full node with <SortRemoveWords />.  Sorry not familiar with the platform for shutdown or startup.
