Yes I know all about it but keep in mind that Sparklight has data caps that will drive my internet bill past $100 so TVE is not a viable option.

Good point. I wonder if Spectrum will have caps on the Ultra, 450/20, Plan I have when they join in this data cap nonsense?

Some of us already have xfinity via TV Everywhere in Emby via ChannelsDVR m3U export.

For whatever reason many (all?) of my TVE Channels are not working in Emby right now. I don't know why but I'm done fiddling with it for now.

I may consider this in the future. I have free cable TV right now, but if I move, this could be an option. Is there a guide on how to set that up, somewhere?

Were they working and now don't?

When your frustration level decreases - Try adding "codec=copy" after "m3u8?" - lose the quotes. See if it makes a difference.

It's pretty simple.  On the setup page you can add new tuners/providers.

Two show up in beta: Locast & TV Everywhere.

So you can use them both for all local OTA channels as well as the national channels from TV Everywhere.  You'll likely end up with 175 to 225 channels depending on area without using an antenna or actual tuner device.

I've actually been building a "mobile" server on my notebook that uses all Internet based services for movies, TV shows, IPTV streams and the Locast & TV Everywhere TV stuff fits right in with this project.

You won't have any trouble figuring out the setup.

That is not even a Valid TV Everywehere site... That is watchTVeverywhere not even the same. Remember the channels you will get depends on what Cable package you are subscribe too.. So everyone will get diff channels... Just because you see them on the list does not mean you will get the channels it will say not in subscription.

This gives you what channels you can watch on streaming services other than Cable providers ... fully supported in channels DVR.

That where it used be keep in mind that has change over the years and used under a diff name and was even run by someone else and at one time had all cable providers now it seem be all the smaller cable providers that lack the resources as that was what CableONE give me before they move it to own poral at http://watch.sparklight.com/ which some of channel don't work any way.

I wonder where Channels DVR gets this from?  They must be using some central site for all providers.

We can already get Locast in Emby without needing Channels DVR which covers the local TV in many markets.  Would be nice to be able to pull in TVE channels as well without the $8/monthly from Channels DRV for the "National" channels.

Anyone know of another way to get TVE into a M3U files?

You get the M3U by pasting: http://serveripaddress:8089/devices/TVE-yourprovider/channels.m3u? into a browser it then will download the M3U.

Does that make sense?

I have not seen any documentation per say other than posts in the channels forum.

It makes perfect sense read page 1-3 of this thread. Or go to Channels thread below.

The question is how to get an m3u outside paying for ChannelsDVR; from somewhere else that authorizes your legit login from your Provider but generates the m3u.

No doesn't make sense as I said without using Channels DRV.  That URL is using Channels DVR. :)

We can do Locast without needing Channels DVR so I'd like to find a solution to do the same for TVE channels if possible.

I moved the channels.m3u from the downloads folder to another location and it quit working from many channels but if I point Emby at the download folder it seems to work well. Either that or the channels.m3u needs to be downloaded on a regular basis. IDK.. testing.

What does adding the codec=copy do and I figure you mean in the m3u channel list in the channels.m3u file itself..

Now to get more complete guide data..

I'm using the Spectrum guide for my data and it seems to be very hit and miss with a lot of data missing.

Found it as a suggestion on the channels forum to remedy a problem similar to yours. Worked for that person.

You could also try using mpg streams - Replace "hls/master.m3u8?codec=copy" with "stream.mpg" in the M3U file.

I have been doing a lot of testing. Seems like using the ANY device M3U (so all channels TVE&HDHR) would solve the issue of getting the HDHR channels into Emby and eliminate the duplication of channels which it does. BUT - using the HLS streams doesn't really work beyond 2 or 3 channels. Seems like it tries to record (3rd,4th,5th channel) but it does not. If I switch to the stream.mpg format it does work, I did up to 7 channels being recorded but FFMPEG cpu usage was rising with every channel not a huge amount I think recording 7 channels put it around 15%.

Way more info than you asked about....

In the M3U here:

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="##" tvg-logo="" tvg-name="NNNNN" group-title="HD",NNNNN
http://###.###.###.###:8089/devices/TVE-nnnn/channels/6033/hls/master.m3u8?codec=copy

So I need to edit all of them like this?

First part gives it a channel number and second part gives it a stream.mpg?

With limited testing last night, this seemed to fix my problem as well.  I only tried the codec=copy method.  I may try the stream.mpg method tonight and see if it makes a difference.  Reluctant to do so since copy=codec worked.  You know how it is about fixing things until they are broken...

Mine looks like this straight out of the box:

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-logo="https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s62420_ll_h3_ab.png" tvg-name="CCP" group-title="HD",CCP
http://localhost:8089/devices/TVE-Spectrum/channels/6011/hls/master.m3u8?

So I need to add in the channel number and then change the extension?

Any way to batch edit this? I think I'll try with notepad ++ on a copy of the original..
