Lots of fixes there.  I'm hoping one of them fixes the problem I have once in awhile where HD audio is down mixed to stereo.  Only way I found to fix that is a hard restart of the Shield

No additional ads here.

I've been running this for a while now and no ads as part of the early testing team.

I've not found anything bad with it at all.

They can be removed.

Occasionally have had them pop up on the Shield, but clicking on the minus button on the left of the row soon removed them.

Adds HDR to SDR color tone mapping

The rest is all convenience stuff, but this one seems huge to me, I wonder how it works with Emby and/or Kodi.

I have a Shield in my bedroom connected to a 1080p SDR display. 4K HDR movies look better, color is not washed. Keep in mind that this only applies with Direct Play.

Shield 2019 Tube Edition is still a crap playing high bitrate 4K items?

What is the point of the Tube one. Run it with 32 bit so everyone goes yuk and buys the expensive one instead ?

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Yes, I have a Shield Tube in my son's bedroom, he uses wifi and he doesn't watch high bitrate content. I have connected his Shield to the main TV connected to the gigabit network and I have played a movie with a bitrate of 60 Mbps. The movie is unwatchable. I have put the shield back in my son's bedroom and I hope he does not find out, otherwise he will ask me for a Pro.😀

I have lost hope that this will be fixed with a firmware update.

@ebr SFNs states "Audio Codec: Dolby+ (local downmix)".

If I hit Playback Correction, the audio starts to be remuxed, but to AAC 5.1, not AC3 5.1.

This is so disappointing. Am I however, correct/hopelessly optimistic in thinking that this line:

would mean that an Emby update could perhaps target the memory leaks which have been suggested as the cause of the problem with high bit-rate content?

This is after updating the firmware?  Have any audio settings on the device itself changed?

Not that I can tell. I didn't change anything.

Did you see my post above about SFNs and "Local downmix"?

I have no ads, like I said, I block many "telemetric" services. Go to settings in the home section and block access to that. I did the upgrade yesterday and I found different issues like 4K playback because the new AI features added by Nvidia but no ADS at all

The audio settings are changed in some parts, now usb can handle 5.1 and SMB3 is a "new feature" in this Nvidia upgrade

Yes, that would be an indication of audio capabilities being wrong.

Have you tried re-booting the Shield with everything else powered up?

The Sonos Beam is always on, as it has Alexa built into it, but yes I have rebooted the Shield a few times since the upgrade.

I restarted the Shield and had music playing on the Beam whilst doing so, but still the same result.

It was working perfectly before the SE upgrade.

Anyway of having additional options added to the app to (force) pass the correct/remuxed audio through to our soundbars please?
