Eradev 8
Hello, I've just tagged an album which has two different units with similar names. One being ACE and the other ACE+. They are however listed as both ACE+ on Emby. Both of them have a separate musicbrainz ID. (ACE: 16563fb9-c2b5-4ab7-b5b1-7b6592f862a1) (ACE+: ef759905-c2d3-4c96-afb5-50b1f60812f7) Edited August 23, 2020 by Eradev Added version in title
Luke 37060
@Eradev Hi, how are they tagged inside the audio file, using just the artist name? Or are the audio files tagged with the musicbrainz id as well?
Eradev 8
Only with the artist name.
Carlo 4330
Hi, Excuse my ignorance as I'm not familiar with either artists, but to me I'd wager 99.9% that it's a tagging issue. What are the chances two so similar artists have an album with the exact same name like this?

Carlo 4330
Not yet LOL What do the the extended tags look like if you view them in a program such as Picard? https://picard.musicbrainz.org/
Happy2Play 8281
Would need to see the ffprobe info from the track to see what Emby is reading, The properties above would not show any extended tags.

Carlo 4330
I think I lost my wager. I'm not sure why track 17 shows as ACE+ when ffmpeg shows the tagging as ACE. MusicBrainZ also has track 17 as ACE. Could you move this album out of you music library do a library scan, then put it back and scan it again followed by uploading you embyserver log file so we can take a look at it? Carlo 4330
So these are the commands that were run against both of these files. What do you get when you run them? C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffprobe.exe -i file:"D:\_Music\Library\[ +VGM ]\VA - 2020 - Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Sound Selection\15 A Tragic Decision.flac" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_format C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffprobe.exe -i file:"D:\_Music\Library\[ +VGM ]\VA - 2020 - Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Sound Selection\17 Bionis' Shoulder.flac" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_format

Happy2Play 8281
What externalid show on the track (edit metadata)? What providers do you have for Music library? Only thing I can think of would be possibly metadata provider related. The version I got with no providers enabled shows the embedded artist tag value. PenkethBoy 2063
is this something to do with the remove/replace chars in the system.xml file as IIRC it removes + from searches etc

But I am seeing the same results after retagging media.
Happy2Play 8281
Tagging with Picard shows the correct information though. To me this would have to be something in the lookup process. Happy2Play 8281
I have not figured it out exactly but I get the same result with tracks without Musicbrainz ids embedded. My guess would be the by name lookup is creating issues for ACE and ACE+. As mentioned above using Picard provided correct results. But will be doing some more testing. @Luke does that sound right?
