ps - if you have two computers are REALLY want to play, then RipBot264 allows distributed processing - ie it splits the file across up to 16 (I think) machines ! 😃

That is a little above my pay grade........

Beelink sent me this little miniPC and it is really quite powerful.  It takes less time to do the conversions than my 5 year old home made desktop computer.

http://www.bee-link.com/portal.php?mod=view&aid=141  The one they sent me has 16GB memory, 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD.......

They also sent me this GS-King X Android box with dual internal 3.5" drive bays......... They included a 4TB Hard drive.

I am trying to get this device to be a decent Emby server/client in one device with it's internal storage.  It supports 2 - 16TB hard drives.  It uses an Amlogic SoC, which obviously not very powerful, but it does work desent if it does not have to transcode.  That is why I have to transcode my movies that are coded with the VC-1 codec.  It plays natively, all my other media without issues.

The form factor is perfect for a stand alone sever/client solution, they just need a more powerful CPU.

I have spent years and lots of $$ looking for that elusive one device does it all solution....... May never find it.
