Hello!

Sorry for my bad english

I am using EmbyCon few month with "http" Connection without problems

Now I have to use "https" instead of "http" to connect to my Server, because http is for me not available any more

Connection to Server is no Problem Streams are starting without problems but during streaming, streams abort/stops

Than I can push play and stream starts on the position, where the stream aborted

I have testet some EmbyCon Settings, but nothing helps

Please can you tell me what the problem is

Fore excample some Hardware Sytstems with this issue:

FireTV1 / Kodi18.7 / EmbyCon stable nvidia shield 2017 / Kodi 18.6 / embycon stable nvidia shield pro / kodi 18.8 / Embycon stable xioami Mi Box / kodi 18.7 / embycon stable

If you realy need a logfile, so i can upload it the nex days

Thanks for Helping

Log files both from Kodi and Emby Server would help try to work out what could be happening.

EmbyCon log files are best, turn on Debug logging in the EmbyCon settings.

It just looks like the stream stopped, this could be for a number of reasons, internet disruption, connection too slow, server stopped responding.

I dont think this is due to EmbyCon, it is Kodi that is having issues with the playback, the plugin is not involved with the actual p0layback, once it tell Kodi what to play the EmbyCon addon just monitors the playback and reports status updates to the Emby server so the server knows the progress.

Thanks for answering.

Do you have any idea what I can do to fix the issue

Internet is over stable Cable form my provider (75Mbit/s Download, 15Mbit/s Upload) and LAN Cable in the house

Which "Force Transcode playback stream option" should i prefere (h265, mpeg4 ....) for my Android Device?

no that is not what I mean, just select Force Transcode from the context menu for the video and it will give you an option to select a bitrate, select a low bitrate and try that.

Hello.

I have done what you are saying and chooses Force Transcode from context menue and than Play but it does not help.Stream is aborting

Exactly every 18 Minutes the stream breaks

Any other idea?

And a Question please: By chooseing force transcode, is the transcoding process doing by client (in my case FireTV)but isn't it bad for the client CPU?

The force transcode is forcing the server to transcode.

You could try playback from another pc or laptop to see what happens. If it stops at the same place it is the server, if it does not stop it is your client.

Hi. I was doing a test on Windows PC and Android Handy (Samsung Galaxy A6+) over WLAN

It is definitely an android problem

On Windows PC the stream is working fine from begin to the end of an episode

But the same Episode on Android Handy stops

The Emby settings on Windows and Handy are the same

My FireTV1 (from my first posting) is connected over LAN Cable

So you can see it's a problem of android with Kodi/Emby and not the internet connection

I hope this can help you to fix that issue

I can not fix it. This is a Kodi/Android issue not an Emby server or EmbyCon add-on problem.

The last thing you can try is use the Emby for Kodi add-on and see if you get the same results, my guess is you will but it would be good to see if you get the same results.

Sorry I dont know, I dont know much about the Android platform or if the Kodi build you are using is from the official Kodi team.

They will probably ask for a Kodi Debug log and steps to reproduce it. Apart from that I am not sure.

I have got an answer from the Kodi Team to my Issue Report. They say, it's not a Problem from Kodi, it have to be a Problem from Emby.

So I ask you, please, what to do in this case to fix this Problem?

Is there any way to test embycon with Kodi19, possibly, there is no Stream abborting

Hi Team B!

At the last Week my Provider and users like me, was doing some tests with EmbyCon / Kodi

The Result is, we found out, that the reason for the problems was the latest Emby Server Update!!

After doing a Downgrad to an older Version (4.4.3.0) the problem is fixed

EmbyServer Version:
Buggy: 4.5.1.0
At the Moment Runing without Problem:  4.4.3.0

I hope you can find the Problem and fix this with a new EmbyServer Update

Hi, can you please attach the emby server and kodi logs together that go over one example? Thanks.

I guess the user won't be able to attach the Emby log because he doesn't have an Emby server. Instead he's using the server of a commercial provider that is illegal hosting content.

Ok he mentioned rolling back the server so I assumed he had some access to it, or least access to a person who does.
