rjay 21
Now that Emby officially supports QNAP and you grab down the latest build from Emby.media rather than needing to download the qpkg from QNAP Forums, is there a Emby Repository you can add to the QNAP in addition to the default QNAP repository to make updating easier? or will updating internal to the Emby app, similar Windows version, on QNAP eventually be implemented? thanks

Luke 37022
No, sorry, however long it takes to get through their review process.
rjay 21
Thanks Luke, understand I will keep an eye out for it! Is the internal updating a long term option? I know there can be OS related complications but I notice some apps like Sonarr/Radarr etc do manage to have the same app internal update options across their platforms? Also cheers for the prompt replies
Luke 37022
That would seem like a duplication of effort when the store can handle that for us.
rjay 21
Makes sense mate, definitely got to ration that Dev time! Only end user advantage is it allows you to turn on automatic updates for individual Apps rather than having to turn it App store wide. Good stuff! WtfJoke 0
Just wanted to let you know, that I've built an update URL until you get into the official QNAP catalog. Heres how to use it: Go to your AppCenter --> Click the Gear Icon on the top right corner Click on the Tab "App Repository" and then on "Add" Name: "Emby" (or any other) and URL: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/WtfJoke/EmbyQNAPRepository/main/repository.xm After that you can go to the left and install Emby as usual. However you wont get notified about updates, but you can always install the latest version there and it will install like you would upload the new version manually. Enjoy! gillmacca01 149
Does this support all QNAP's, or only specific ones? Also does it support beta's? Edited August 26, 2023 by gillmacca01

It should support a couple QNAP's. If a model is missing, I can add it. I only need the platformId and the corresponding emby qnap package link, but it is not easy to match all without developer info (for example it doesnt support the ARMv7 and ARM X12, X19, X20, X21 models, because I didnt found the platformId for it) Currently it doesnt support beta versions, but it would be possible to add it, if someone is interested in it. Are you?
ricostuart 2
This is a great idea - hope this gets kept going. Anyway, my TVS473e doesnt seem to work with this repo. It just comes up blank when I set it up. Can you help?
