Gefahrensucher 2
Hi there, I just tried to install the Emby Server on my Synology DS720+. Added the source like told here, but there is no package shown up. Do I have to install it manually? Where do I find the right package? Best regards
FrostByte 5049
You will need to use the new package for your Geminilake There is a link to the new packages here

FrostByte 5049
@cayars will you be updating the synology install page because the newer Synology's can't use the mono builds out there? I think Luke is directing people to the new builds with .NET core package, but it's also not available for all processors yet so we would need both for right now
Luke 37049
I would think you'd be able to use our new package:
FrostByte 5049
@Luke He did, and it worked. However, everyone who buys a new Synology immediately goes to the webpage initially for installation instructions and that doesn't work for the newer systems so they head here for help. Just think if you're okay with the way things are going with the new packages that the webpage could be changed to include manual instructions for the new .NET core. The systems where .NET core isn't available would still use the old instructions for now. I can provide screenshots if needed for the manual install procedures

Darkjeje 11
Hello, I am thinking of buying one of the new DSxx20 + NAS. Can you confirm to me that Emby is working correctly on these new NAS ? Thank you
Luke 37049
It should be fine if we have a package for your CPU architecture.

The X64/Intel ones (which I believe all the + models are) are good to go as well as some of the others https://www.synology.com/en-uk/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/Compatibility_Peripherals/What_kind_of_CPU_does_my_NAS_have Edited September 8, 2020 by FrostByte

Darkjeje 11
Thank you for your answers. I'm still hesitating between Synology DS420 + and QNAP TS-453D. Since QNAP has the same processor as the DS920 +, I guess it should work well with Emby as well, as well as hardware acceleration ?
