Play channel selection without splash page

I can't seem to find this in settings or in the forums, but I wanted to know if there is a way to play the channel selection directly from the guide without the info pop up that asks you to select if you want to play or record etc. Most other media players it goes right to the channel and avoids a 2nd click from the remote to select the channel you want to play, and maybe a long hold/double press brings up this box? I would love to know...thanks!
