Tautulli for Emby

Hi,

I would love to have tautulli or equivalent for emby. Especially for people coming from plex, we would love to see something like tautulli.

I know there are a few Statistic plugins but i think we all know there is nothing like tautulli out there.

I love the way i see people currently watching movies on my server and the details of what is transcoding etc.

i know emby also shows ppl watching movies but it isn't the same.

I don't get a notification or even see a icon if someone starts to play while i have the emby page open.

There is no icon that shows me someone is watching a movie.

Tautulli is also open source so if someone has the skills in python to make it work for emby, this would be amazing.

For me this is actually really the only reason I hesitate to switch completely.

maybe someone can make this happen :)

There is a tool named embystat

https://github.com/mregni/EmbyStat

But need time to it have as many things as tautulli have. But if you are developer feel free to help mregni to improve her app

Ok thanks, i installed it but the for me most important part is missing. I want to see when ppl are actually streaming a movie. This is not implemented. I need a overview of who is actually watching a movie, is he transcoding or direct play etc. and a history who was wachting what movie and when etc..

Maybe this is comming soon, this is what makes tautulli so great for me. ;)

The Playback Reporting plugin does a better job of providing some of that information, but again it's no PlexPy/Tautulli.

If I missed anything from Plex, it's this.

Playback reporting is a community created open source plugin, if you have any suggestions, ideas, drawings, mockups or examples on what you think would make a good report to add to the plugin or how it can be improved you can post in the plugins forum.

to be fair, since Tautulli is opensource, and it encompasses pieces of all of the different plugins being created currently (some which have been mentioned in this thread), why couldn't the current projects abandon theirs and just fork tautulli and work on it together to make it Emby compatible?  I am no developer, so it maybe more work than I realize, but I can't imagine it being more difficult than recreating it from the ground up?...

Would LOVE to see this  happen. Tautulli just seems to embody all the good things about these separate Emby plug-ins. If the current developers of these various Emby tools would come together to make this  happen, I'd have NO PROBLEM sending them some cash. Should we crowdfund a bounty and turn the money over once it's ported and working?

Good afternoon. Please add Tautulli to Emby. It is necessary that notifications come to Telegram. There is Emby.Plugin.TelegramNotification, but it's all very simple and there is little information. Below is an example of how it is designed in plex and how it is designed in Emby. https://github.com/bjoerns1983/Emby.Plugin.TelegramNotification

There's quite a few people who want something like Tautulli for Emby. Tautulli, as far as I know, isn't developed by the Plex team but a third-party. Has anyone suggested a fundraiser of sorts for someone who can code to develop this? Tautulli is open source and available on Github, so I would suspect a developer could fork it for Emby, and I'd be happy to throw in some money to get a project like this going.

Any news about this?

Don't think so. Once Plex pisses off enough people, or announces that they are halting all development on the server side so they can concentrate on the client, you'll see a mass exodus of users to Emby. Once that happens, I'm sure the Tautulli author will start supporting Emby. I think he said he's totally fine if anyone wants to take up the task.

Plex laid off 20% of their staff last year (and some of those folks were key developers that supported the server software). They honestly think that if Plex admins tell the folks that are streaming from them that they are switching to Emby, that these people will keep the Plex client and deal with ads or pay money to watch shows on Max, Hulu, Apple TV, etc. I asked some of the people that stream from me that if I switched to another server software, would they keep the client installed and they all said no. If Plex kills off the server, I'm positive more than 50% of the people using their client will uninstall it and that will be the end of Plex Inc and the birth of Tautulli on Emby. :)

Absolutely this!  I have ~15 close friends and family who access my emby server.  They accessed it when it was a Plex server, but I know none of them are still using the Plex client for the content they provide.  Plex lost its way back in 2018 when it started making users connect to their services to access local content along with questionable privacy policies.  I'm glad I jumped ship back then and have no regrets, although I'd love something like Tautulli on Emby.
