Stuttering VOD Stream

I'm not sure why Emby is stuttering / stuck when playing a VOD stream from an IPTV provider, every 5-15 seconds or so video freezes.

Running Android Server and Android TV on Mi Box S.

  1. Emby play VOD, stuttering / "stuck" issue every 5- 15s
  2. Emby "use external player", select VLC, stuttery playback.
  3. Direct network play on VLC same Mi Box S, plays stream without any issues

Running latest Android Server beta and latest Android TV beta

Thoughts?

Np, log was sent, here is the additional information requested:

1. Exactly what you were doing and what happened.  Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem

Turned on Mi Box S, Emby Android Server (auto loads), Emby Android TV turned on.  Went to "Movies", selected a movie playing from a VOD stream.  VOD Stream started playing, and stuttered every 5 - 15 seconds.

2. The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5) - at or about 3:32 p.m. EST

3. The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time - IPTV-RHill

Thanks :)

Make sure you go to the User Name at the top of the app, scroll down and hit "Send Log".

Please see attached server logs for your reference as requested.

EDIT: I had to edit the following out of the logs: IPTV address sources which included username and password. It will show as "website.com:1234/movie/USERNAME/PASSWORD/" and "http://1.1.1.1:1935/somepath...."

I was just making sure that you did it because sometimes I myself forget to do it. I'm not a developer so I don't have access to it but Luke and EBR do.

Hi. The item is having to transcode and your server just doesn't seem to be fast enough to be able to do that.

It is reporting that this stream is coming in as HLS.  Does your provider have an option for .ts instead?

It does give an option for TS stream, but it appears to be device specific?

Hi.  What do you mean "device specific"?  If you can get direct ts links that will probably work better (depending on the content of the streams).

@leungalv I've removed the video stream links that you posted.

Oh ok ... I removed all identifying content from them though.

In any case, per @ebr suggestion, it appears that the video stream links just link to the mp3 file 😕
