rain.men 0
I think my port is blocked by my ISP since I can't connect remotely and tried almost everything (port forwarding and turning off firewall). Canyouseeme.org gives me an error on port 8096 and even on port 32400 (Plex default port). However, I can connect remotely on my Plex using an external connection. What I want to know is how is this possible and could I replicate this on my Emby server.
rain.men 0
Looking through the Plex settings, I think it has to do with the relay feature. Is there an easy way I can set up my server like this?
pwhodges 1509
Emby does not relay like Plex - you are expected to connect directly to your own server. Emby Connect points to your server, but doesn't pass the stream data. This is so that you can remain independent of reliance on a specific third-party site. Have you tried using port 80 or (with a certificate) 443? Maybe these aren't blocked. Have you been through all the steps in Emby's Connection Troubleshooter? If all else fails, getting a VPN can enable a route in to your server when the ISP is blocking a direct one - but others will have more advice on this than I can offer.
