Season posters in the same style

I admit this isn't the worlds most important problem, but I like everything clean and organized. So one thing thats been bugging me for quite some time is the mixture of styles in the season-posters for one show - maybe for season one there is an "the complet season one" text at the top of the poster, for season two there is just a large "2" in the bottom left and season 3 is designed in yet another style.  5ed4312ecd814_Screenshotfrom202006010034

I know that I can manually change the image for each season, but this is quite time consuming. The loading of the available posters is painstakingly slow and sometimes incomplete, I've to check all seasons first to make sure the style that I want to use is available for all seasons and then I've to go thru it all again to select the appropriate images.

So my question: Is there a better way to detect which posters belong together and chose a complete series for all seasons? Could emby be improved to do it automatically? Or are there any other plugins/databases/tricks I could use? How do you other OCD-users out there do it? :D

Personally, OCD types like me would probably do stuff manually from ThePosterDB -

https://theposterdb.com/posters/3608

https://theposterdb.com/set/19372

I don't know of a way to automate it, but the list of things I don't know is truly spectacular...

Maybe ThePosterDB could be an Emby option one day - hint, hint.

If you do a one-time refresh metadata on the series and replace all images, then by obtaining all season images at the same time you'll increase the likelihood that they will be uniform. It just depends on what the highest rated images are for each season on tvdb, moviedb, etc.

It all comes down to the provider and how that image is rated on their site.  So uniformity can be impossible without user intervention.

If you store artwork with the media then it becomes pretty easy to simply replace what you do not want with what you do want. But it is tedious and I don't bother. As long as I can tell what I am looking at and it is not too hard to read/understand then I canre very little what the artwork looks like.

I watch media not the interface that I use to access it.

I guess I am lucky that my mild OCD does not include obsessing over the visuals of the interface. In this case "good enough" is really "good enough."

I'm somewhat active on the plexposters reddit & submit the odd poster.  Some of the regulars there are behind Posterdb.  Posterdb is what we would need support for to get this FR addressed, but they don't yet have an API.  For now this is manual work...manual work I do all the freaking time as I slowly polish my posters to my own take on perfection.

Great request but currently impossible.

If they ever do do an API i guess it could work quite well for Movie collections as well, which I also (occasionally) do manually.

They're working on it I'm told though always in the context of a plex plugin.  Dunno if a public api will come at that time or later.

They do keep the poster sets flagged together though so you could potentially apply an entire matched set to a collection it they do it right.

Well, you can download a set but guess the applying bit is still one by one.

Still, first world problem...

Thanks, maybe I'll manage to wirte myself a little script that helps with the adding of these posters.

@@Luke would it be enough just to repace the season-images within the series folder or would I have to change stuff in some configs/databases/etc. as well to get the new pictures recognized?
