sfcredfox 1
Would it be possible to enable a feature allowing Emby to remove the temporary files from the transcoding temporary path during playback instead of after the user stops the viewing session? Justification: Transcoding a higher resolution movie may take up a large amount of disk space. (example: 4K REMUX gets transcoded to x264). This requires the server have large enough disks to accommodate the full size of all the files. Additionally, if the server is transcoding multiple movies, that's a significant space usage. This is mostly applicable on a machine that doesn't store the media and thus doesn't have TB drives in it for storage. Additionally, you don't want to convert the movies since they are already potentially huge. Proposed Solution: If possible, can the temporary files be removed after playback moves past them by some reasonable amount? Perhaps this could be set to allow the user to rewind some amount without retranscoding, but the other temporary files are removed, allowing the temporary transcoding path to be significantly smaller.
