Keenan 0
I've done some searching and can't seem to find an answer and maybe what I'm asking isn't even possible. How do you add music to the iPhone so it can be played back via the Emby app when I'm not connected to my local WiFi? The app tells me that it's been downloaded, something has been downloaded though it doesn't seem to be the actual music data itself as when I try to even access the content if gives me a connection error and in fact, doesn't even display the "downloaded" content at all. New user here, bought the Emby Premiere sub, maybe there's something simple I'm missing. All I want to do is to play my own personal music on my iPhone while I'm away from home, is that possible with Emby? Thanks!
Luke 36879
Hi there, have you tried accessing your downloads using the Downloads section in the app? You'll be able to play those without a connection. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Keenan 0
Hi there, have you tried accessing your downloads using the Downloads section in the app? You'll be able to play those without a connection. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. It seems to be working now, I can access and play the downloaded music without being connected to my local WiFi. I guess I hadn't completely downloaded the files to the phone before trying to access them. What is the transfer speed anyway, so I have an idea of how much time should be allowed as there doesn't seem to be any indicator that anything is happening other than a "downloading" message? How do I know it's done downloading, how many folders can it download at once and can the download be restarted if I leave the wifi connection and return later? Also, the app seems to get stuck or hangs often resulting in having to stop it and then restart it. Right now I'm tapping the left arrow in the top left of the screen to go back to the library(I think) and nothing is happening, it's stuck on the current screen. Also, what formats does the app play? The data I downloaded to the phone is in the FLAC format. Thanks I'm running an iPhone 10S with iOS 13.5 Edited May 25, 2020 by Keenan
Luke 36879
@Keenan The app has an audio player that can direct play almost any format. Regarding the download progress indication, yes we are working on improving that. Thanks for the feedback.
