Hi. Sure. I have a couple of movies (media files) that are listed twice for the user. My wife bout The Godfather my kid made me buy the Fast and Furious box set. I'm really unsure how to relay the info. Each GF movies is in the f/media1/GF Folder/

They each show up twice in the general movie selection. Only GF 1 shows up twice in Latest Movies. Neither I nor II show up.

I'm sure you need more info, I just know how.

If you click on both of them, do they both list the same file path at the bottom of the video detail screen?

Hi. Well, the dupes disappeared overnight. So, I guess the library scan took car of them. I do have one or two others I'll check on your question.

When selecting the folders view for movies I cannot find one folder I created The Fast and the Furious. It is not under T or F. The one movie missing in the Collection view shows up Linux folder view and not in Emby Movie view. view. I cannot find it to add it.

I appreciate the assistance.

What happens if you search for "The Fast and the Furious"?

Then check the path shown in Emby?

Well, things seem to be settled down a little here. I manually got rid of my dupes and edited the thumbnails as needed and all looks good. All except one FF file. It is in the directory the rest are in Emby just does not do anything with it. I cannot search for it.

If I select to do a file scan from within editing a Box Set does that scan just the library files I am working with or my whole library?

thanks, Bj.

Wait you have them all in the same directory?

Make one directory for EVERY movie you have and include the year.

Try and follow the naming convention as here in this knowledge base article:

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming

This will give you best results.

Oh I think I knew 1 directory per movie. I was just lazy. I have a movie that shows up in the Folder option in Emby but I cannot see it in the Movies section. What can I do?

thanks

What is the movie path and name of the movie?

The directory is correct. I should have added that while there is a movie in the directory looking with Folders in Emby it sees no movie at all. Weird. So far as the path don't ask why it is so long...

usb-ATA_ST3000DM001-1CH1_0123456789ABCDE-0:0-part1/Media1/The Silence of the Lambs.mkv

A few other movies today I added went ok.

Naming issue most likely.

Try it with the directory name and NOT in the root and use the year:

usb-ATA_ST3000DM001-1CH1_0123456789ABCDE-0:0-part1/Media1/The Silence of the Lambs (1991)/The Silence of the Lambs (1991).mkv

This follows the proper naming from the knowledge base:
