Unable to record live TV or from EPG

Hi,

Its me again. Once the permissions were sorted, I can play live TV with no problems at all. The playback in Emby Theatre is quicker to start and better quality that though the Next PVR web interface (I know its because of the transcoding)

I have tried to re create my scheduled recordings in Emby and also record new programmes, but all I get is the spinning wheel in Windows and on my android phone.

I have double checked my settings, and the only thing I have changed is the DVR recording path because I have limited space on the drive Emby is installed on. I have updated the EPG on both Next PVR and Emby, and given it about 30 minutes before trying again.

Looking at the logs, it almost looks like there is a setting I have missed somewhere, or could it be that the recording location in Emby is different to Next PVR?

Emby log:

If you used a direct play client like NexPVR.exe or Kodi it will be faster than Emby Theater.

I don't like snippets but it probably is the same issue I reported to you before, you haven't synced your daily  NextPVR EPG update with the time that Emby grabs the guide data from NextPVR.

Yes try refreshing the guide data from emby server, then try again to schedule something. Please see if that helps. Thanks.

Thanks for you replies. Both EPGs were updated, and they are scheduled to update a the same time:

I tried an EPG recording again this morning, with the same results. I have attached both complete sets of logs this time, I attempted the record at 08:43:47.

Might not matter, but it might be better to have Emby update, say 10 minutes after each NextPVR update.

Personally, I find once a day enough.

It think that is too many updates and it is really going to hinder you since you will need about an hour total for the update/sync.

The prime issue right now is outside your scheduled times I see you did a manual update in NextPVR

2020-05-21 07:46:21.218    [DEBUG][162]    Doing EPG update from broadcast DVB/ATSC EPG

...

2020-05-21 08:03:50.792    [DEBUG][162]    No C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\PostLoadEPG.bat file found

Pretty much  overlapping the update in Emby.

This is bound to cause trouble.

You need to allow 20 minutes for the NextPVR OTA update  then update Emby  and that will take another 30 minutes or so.

Thanks Martin

Over lunchtime I rescheduled the EPG updates so N PVR updates 20 minutes before Emby. I also emptied and updated my N PVR channels using an updated region ini created by a script posted on the N PVR forum. I waited an hour or so, and now it seems to be working.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Somewhere I posted a utility that will force the update after NextPVR finishes and you don't need to depend on specific times, and you can turn of Emby schedule upating entirely.
