DVD order Batman the Animated Series

Hello

Sorry for bringing this up again. I have read a lot of old threads (including https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/56616-3311-dvd-absolute-episode-ordering/), but I simply can't get this to work.

I want Batman the Animated Series to be in the DVD order, because the normal order makes no sense.

I have set Batman the Animated Series to be displayed in DVD order in the meta information for the series.

This is how I have my files organized:

This is how they turn out:

What am I doing wrong?

I just tested on with database only metadata and had no issues with this series.

Have you tried removing all metadata?

I have tried deleting the meta data multiple times. I have also tried placing nfo's from an external application. I can't get anything to work.

Is there some sort of the secret trick I am missing?

Nothing special, you have TVDB as the first metadata provider, correct?

I had it not work once testing with nfo files, but after deleting all nfo files and refreshing the series I have not had any issues.

Only other possibility may be metadata language.  What is your metadata language?

Well my language was Danish before, but now i tried deleting all the nfo's and setting the language to English. I still get the same order (ie not DVD order).

Did you check what tvdb has for DVD order for this series in your language?

As I wrote in #7 I have already tried setting the language to English, but it didn't do anything.

Yes, both Danish and English have the correct DVD order on TVDB.

Do you use season folders?

Yes. They are called "Season 01", "Season 02", and "Season 03".

I am trying to migrate from Plex to Emby. Plex can handle BTAS in DVD order from reading my folder data.

Do you have nfo files?

I do, but there is a problem with them. Only episode 7-27 generates NFO's in season 1. Missing is ep 1-6. The content of the NFO is also wrong. I got the same issue with season 2 and 3.

Could you zip the" \Emby-Server\programdata\cache\tvdb\76168" folder and post it.

Location may be different depending on the OS but the Cache path can be seen in the Paths box on the Dashboard.

It is on a Synology DS218+ NAS. Not really sure where that folder is located.

Doesn't the Dashboard show /var/packages/EmbyServer/target/var/cache?

Having a similar issue with another TV show (The Bible, TVDB 265720). I add in the series and it loads in aired order. I go to metadata editor and change to DVD order, save, and then have it replace all metadata, but nothing changes. Have tried switching to English (TVDB does not have my language for this TV show) for this show, but doing so (and updating metadata afterwards) produces no change whatsoever other than changing the language of the show's title and description.

My naming is:

The Bible (2013)

   → Season 1

      → The Bible (2013) S01E01.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E02.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E03.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E04.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E05.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E06.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E07.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E08.mkv

      → The Bible (2013) S01E09.mkv

As shown in the metadata provided from TVDB their api is not returning a value for dvd order, they are all season 0 episode 0.  So another TVDB data issue.

Example directly from their api "null" dvd information.

Well that's for TVDB episode ID 4475670 (called 'Beginnings' at 120 min long) which only exists as an aired episode. The first DVD episode is ID 7478375 and is called 'In the Beginning' and is only 50 minutes long. The rest of 'Beginnings' is distributed into additional DVD episodes, which is why there are twice as many DVD episodes as aired ones.

But that episode name does not even appear in their api metadata, only via their website.  I can only assume this will not be fixed until they release their v4 api update.  But they have given no timeframe of when that will happen.

As shown in the en.xml DVD order metadata is broken per their information.

This would be considered a Alternate order as the DVD is different then Aired and there api does not accomidate that right now.
