Hello,

I have an Nvidia Shield, and I'm trying to add network storage (WD MyCloud) to the device. When I try mapping the location for DVR and media folders, Emby gives a message that tells me it needs rights access. Where do I go to the system to provide it with rights access?

Thanks,

Hello..

The Shield needs SMB to make the connection.  I'm uncertain of the interface to MyCloud (I use a QNAP NAS), but you'll need to create a user account which has access to log into the NAS device as well as read/write access to the mounts/shares of the NAS which your media is stored.

Once you do this, at the top of the main sheild page, go to settings.

Then select Device Preferences

Then select Storage

Then select Mount network storage

Finally, Manually add a network storage

Enter the IP address of the NAS along with the username and password to access the NAS and you should be good to go.

Emby will then allow you to the storage in the library screen.  For example, it shows up as "/storage/QNAP/MediaServer" for me.

Hope this helps.
