Adminstrator can't access all metadata

Windows Server version 4.4.2.0.  Logged in with my account that has administrator privileges, if I go to Metadata Manager, I now only see the folders I have set to access for that account.

"Administrators will be able to edit all folders using the metadata manager." doesn't seem to be true any more.  No user/access/permission changes have been made, is this a server change or bug?

Will have to search for the other topic on this, but if a Admin is appling access restriction to themselves, shouldn't it be honored?

"Administrators will be able to edit all folders using the metadata manager" is the text on the Access page, I'm pretty sure the intent is access to all, and that is how it behaved previously.  As as user with "Allow this user to manage the server" I was previously able to see and edit all the metadata, but have the regular homescreen view show just the selected subset of media.

I am sorry, what access page?  I assume this is a client/app thing as I haven't ever seen this via the web client.

But to me if Access is restricted it should apply everywhere.  But that is just my opinion.

Yes, web interface.  Users > username > Access

says that right under Library Access.

Given that my account used to have access to the metadata, and it literally says that it should have access, I would argue that should have access.

If this was an intentional change, it was an unwelcome one (the only solution would be to create an account that has access to everything just to get at metadata), and the text should be changed as it is now wrong.

Can't seem to find the other recent topic on this, but personally if the admin is being restricted also, I really don't see how it would apply.  But @@Luke would have to reply.

Select the media folders to share with this user. Administrators will be able to edit all folders using the metadata manager.

Hi i'm also having the same issue with this. Made a separate user for my son but I am unable to fix up the metadata from his or admin account. I have search but cannot find an answer, am i missing something? Thanks  (all apps updated to current versions)

For now I would just create another admin account that has access to all libraries.

Just ran into this problem too. Disappointed to see admins can no longer manage all metadata. I'll create another user but it seems "less than optimal" (to put a positive spin on it) to require another user just to occasionally massage metadata. Instead of entirely removing the functionality, could you guys add an option to enable managing all metadata?

Yes we'll have to figure something out for this. Thanks for the feedback.
