Hi there,

I encountered a very wired issue. If I start some files which I've to transcode in the web app I only see the spinning wheel for eternity. I can reproduce the issue only sometimes withe one of the encountered files. I added server and ffmpeg log.

I changed the throttel buffer to 300 seconds and so i thought it could be related to this change but it's not.

Thx.

P.S.

I like the new option in the log sections...thx.

Can you try setting all server transcoding settings back to default? Thanks.

Hi Luke,

I set all settings back to standard and updated meanwhile to 4.5.0.6, unfortunately the same result. I see the spinning wheel for eternity.

Logs added.

Can you try turning off hardware transcoding and see if that has an impact? Thanks.

Please try lowering the in-app quality setting to a lower value, for example 3 mbps. Then work your way up as you see success. Thanks.

Hi Luke,

I tried several settings, including auto, and onyl 1080P with 60 mps worked. At first I tried lower settings wich shows me only the spinning wheel, eventually I went in the other direction and the mentioned setting worked. So I tried to set it to a lower setup again with the spinning wheel and reset to the former working setup also results in a spinning wheel. It seems that the problem only occurs when I start the stream with the continue watching option, as soon as I start the stream from the beginning it works flawless.

I added two logs from the working stream, one directly from the start and another one from a fast forward jump which also worked.  The third log i added is from a "continue watching" trial.

Oh, if I want to leave the spinning wheel, I've to reload the Emby page.

Thx.

@K1ng_Lear - I don't see a problem with transcoding at the server side.

Could you please press F12 in the browser then click on 'Console' and see whether any errors are logger when you try to playback?

Hi @softworkz,

I made a screenshot from the console screen and added the log also. Again the issue only occurs when i try to continue a previous, e.g. yesterday, interrupted stream which triggers a transcode in the web app.

Thx for help.

So you say that playback is working when you play the same file from the start?

Hi,

tried today with the newest server version 4.5.0.10 with the same result. When I start the file from beginning it runs flawless and a soon I restart it from a former position I get the circle of eternity. The only affected client is the web app.

Thx

Hi Luke,

yes, but not with every file. I tried with H264 and forced transcode and it played flawless. Then I started a other mpeg file which also plays flawless so I checked out differences between those two files which I will list up:

Flawless file:

and now one of the files with problems:

Hope this will help you.
