Hi mpb2000, I think there is a scheduled task for that under the 'Library' heading.

Let me know if that does what you expect.a

Hi chef,

I tried it but, it only extracts thumbnails from movies it hasn't extracted yet. I need to "refresh" the thumbnails.

Hi chef,

I tried it but, it only extracts thumbnails from movies it hasn't extracted yet. I need to "refresh" the thumbnails.

What happens if you choose the item and select the refresh metadata. There is a checkbox that says replace images. This might be primary, backdrop etc, but it might also refresh the thumbnails as well.

You have to delete the existing ones first. We currently don't offer a way to do this for you.

Is there a reason one would do this on an entire library?  I can see individual items but never a entire library.

I have done this on a item level removing bif from media folder, but had to remove and re-add item to library.

Yeah the only way I've found to do this is add an ignore file, scan, delete it, and scan again. Which is a bit of a pain.

OK, thank you so far. I need this because most of the thumbnails are stretched out, but this should be fixed with the update to 4.4. Just for my understanding, how can I delete existing thumbnails for a hole Library at once.

Afaik Emby does not offer that, so you would need to delete all .bif files in the Emby folder manually or use a script that search and deletes them.

Not sure if it is a timing thing or what as viewing the network folder for the items I deleted the bif files from and scanning and refreshing were not showing the bif files being recreated, the there logs did.  I checked the folder again the next date and the bif files were there.

So I would say I am seeing a delay viewing this remote share (Windows 10 defect), will have to check locally next time.
