ShadowKindjal 19
I'm having a lot of users complain about random buffering issues that I can't seem to get to the bottom of. I'm currently using an Nvidia RTX 4000 to handle all of my transcoding so I have a feeling it may be a network issue that I haven't been able to figure out. I'm attaching my server log for the latter half of yesterday along with the ffmpeg file for one incident in which someone was complaining about buffering. It seems to be completely random as the user was able to play the same movie later that evening with no issues at all. At most, I may have up to 15 or 16 people streaming at once with a outgoing streaming bitrate limited to 8mbps. My entire internal LAN network is gigabit as well as my outgoing network connection with the server itself being plugged directly into my router (ie no switches). The weirdest thing of all is that I personally haven't experienced this issue. No matter what device I'm using and regardless of whether I'm in the local network or not I can't seem to recreate it so I'm also concerned it could be a user configuration setting as well. Luke 36996
Hi, I would ask them to lower their in-app quality setting. That's generally the solution to buffering/stuttering type issues. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
ShadowKindjal 19
Asking them to lower their in-app quality settings was the first thing I did but many have said doing that does not fix the issue.
Solution Luke 36996 Posted April 6, 2020 Solution Share Posted April 6, 2020 Try lowering it even more, to a low value such as 1 mbps. Then they can work their way up as they see success.
