sesipod 0 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Hello, I am now running Emby on windows 10 and wondering what user account does Emby use ? I know for linux its Emby user and Ebmy group.I am needing to mount my SMB share drive to windows for Emby to use. What credentials do I need to make available to Emby? Can I run Emby server as a service and specify my own user account / password for the service to run under?

Installed emby under that user account and then followed the steps here and set the logon as user to my username for windows 10. Nas SMB Share : username ( sesipod ) Windows 10 user account : username ( sesipod ) Emby Service (logon as): username ( sesipod ) The password matches across all of the systems for the sesipod user account. -- I will post back if there is any issues - if not I will ask/close the topic.

The only option i see now is stop server. I then have to open the services page to start emby again ?
Luke 39651 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 There are some challenges with it and we just haven't gotten to the point of being able to focus on it yet. I'm sure at some point we will.
lorac 106 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 You can have it restart if you don't change the default exit action. In this instance 'shutdown' is actually restart and you have to stop the service outside of emby if you wanted to shutdown.
