iJoMun 11 Posted April 3, 2020 Share Posted April 3, 2020 So, I've been using an emby free account to stream media from my desktop server to my smart TV, using the emby app on the TV. Recently, I added a Shield TV to my setup. Last night I installed the Emby for Android TV app on the Shield and signed into my server, but when I stream any content thought the app I get a quick message telling me it's a trial account that'll expire and that I should sign up for a Premiere account. I don't see this message when streaming using the TV app. Can you tell me what's going on? Am I allowed to use only one streaming device with a free account? I looked at your Emby Premiere Feature Matrix and it seemed to suggest that I could achieve full playback on the Android TV app if I unlocked it. The matrix also showed a paid Premiere option, which lead me to think that I could unlock the app for free for just the full playback option. But when I attempted this on the app, it wanted me to go to my Google account and add a form of payment. So I'm still confused. Do I have to pay for a Premiere account just to get full playback on my Shield TV? EDIT: Did some more research. Seems if I purchased the app that would be sufficient enough to unlock full playback?
