Hi,

I've been through all the connectivity guides to figure this one out but with only partial success.

I am able to access the server from another PC on the same network but nothing outside. I have performed a couple of port scans using tools on https://canyouseeme.org/ for 8096 (See Attached) on the external IP and it reports success.

I was about to setup Port Forwarding on my Virgin Media Hub 3.0 but it appears to have used UPnp to set itself up (See Attached)

I have also disabled the windows firewall completely.

Does anyone have any other ideas ? Seems odd that the Port Scanner is showing it open if it isn't in some way....

Thanks in advance

The IP listed in the screenshot will still be valid for a while should anyone wish to check

What issue are you having?  Your Manual login page opens with WANIP:8096?

Your router might not allow NAT hairpinning (loopback) connections. Have you tried from an external connection or mobile?

I would think it should but not something I've tried myself. If you haven't already try with "http://". Other than that I don't know.

Its from the Emby Server itself using FireFox to register it at http://app.emby.media/#!#dlgxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

But if your router is blocking loopback app.emby.media can not connected to that address locally either.  If you enter you LAN address it connects, correct?

Unless your router has a loopback setting your WAN address is inaccessible within your LAN.

Googling would suggest possibly a upnp vs direct port forwarding issue also.

So when registering with app.emby.media the initial connection is between the browser and the Emby server to be registered? Is this how the process obtains the server details it needs to complete the registration? I ask because it's not something I've tried but it sort of makes sense.

I don't really know the details with Connect, but one should not have to manually enter any information.  They should be applying their Connect username to their local user and the system should automatically get the LAN-WAN information.

I tried it via my mobile phone and it worked ok. I suppose that the site is trying to make an initial connection directly within the browser. This doesn't work for me due to the loopback restrictions.
