pcunha 5
Hi guys, I was wondering if you could me help. I had just migrated my library to Emby and I noticed that hvec videos are being transcoded on Android with Web App client. I believe the transcoding would not be necessary since I can play the files without issues if I transfer them to phone. This my current setup: Server: Nvidia Shield, 8.0.2 running EmbyServer 4.4.0.40 Client: OnePlus A5010, Android 8.1.0 with latest Chrome Video: Matrix (as example), no subtitle enabled. Codec: HVEC Main@L4 8 bits Messages from Dashboard: Reason for transcoding: Video codec not supported Transcoding (92 fps) 3.6 Mbps H264 AAC H.265 (HEVC) MediaCodec -> H.264 (AVC) MediaCodec Logs attached. Thanks in advance. embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63720486369.txt ffmpeg-transcode-4045547a-5e8c-4787-86df-d5678c919bc6_1.txt

Pyro2577 0
You may want to try our Android apps. Push to a paid feature, that was nice and subtle. Mine transcodes too when my sister is watching from her home via Chrome browser, it transcodes faster then she is watching so unless you're on a potato machine it should be ok. Well we do work very hard and we thank you for your support. But we're not artificially limiting hevc in the browsers. If they support it, it will direct play. It's just that as of today not many do. Pyro2577 0
Seems you missed the wink was not implying you were holding back features. Was about to get the lifetime membership but with the current USD-AUD crash I’m going to hold off till it doesn’t cost me over $
