Viewing a TV show while recording.

Once we reach the time in the recording we started to watch and thereafter every 3 min, we get pixelation.

The resulting video file of the recording is also corrupted.

server - Emby 4.4.0.40 on windows system with recent I5 and SSD,  HDHomerun tuner.

client - Android TV

Hi there, did you check your HDHR signal strength at the time this was happening?

Yes the signal was checked, 98% sigal Strength, 100% SNR Quality and 100% Sym Quality.

I have had this problem for a while now.  I check everytime a new version is offered to see if it been fixed.  I try different client app and I installed emby on different system (windows, linux, Nvidea shield) with the same problem on all.

In order to view a tv show while it is recording, I use the HDHomerun app on a raspberryPI.  I can record multiple streams at the same time and view a show while it is recording without any problem,  It is fast and responsive.  The only problem with this solution is that I have two system working, two interface and client app.

Thank for you help

UPDATE

I installed emby server on a raspberry pi4 running ubuntu 19.10.

On that system I can play a TV show while it is recording without any problem.

However, I still have problem with emby server on a windows 10 system.

Hope this help

Any update on this issue? There are many thread about this same kind of issue and all of them end many months ago with "we are looking into it" essentially with no update at all on a fix.

Hi,

What type of drives are you using for recording to and for your transcode temp directory?

Are these on the same drive? If so can you try putting the transcode temp directory on a different drive and give this another try?
