check the server log.  what are the permissions on the drive?

Hi there thank you so much for your response.

I think the drive has the right permissions, because i can browse it from the android FX file manager and play videos from there.(logs?...jesus hard to understand...lol)

Did you install the server onto an SD card?

Hey There mate,

No, i´ve installed it on the internal memory of the Android Box. It launches the server on start. i go to the server page and Browse it from the android box and cant add the external disk connected to USB port. Neither from the computer, through ip. when i go to Library and try to and the external Hard Drive (/storage/++++++++++), it doesn't assume the field.

P.S.:just to try, i set permissions on the HD to everyone full control...(same result).

@@zzpoweremby - How did you add the storage to Android? Usually, Android will ask you how you want to use the storage when you connect it.

Unfortunately, there exist very different implementation depending on Android version an vendor.

Sometimes, you also need to access a subfolder directly instead of the external storage root. You could use "android FX file manager" to check for any subfolder and enter that path directly in Emby.

Also - just to be sure - have you restarted device after adding the storage?

Hey there @@softworkz

The problem persists, so i try a different approach.

I installed Ember Server on my Synology and i was able to add all folders i want...

So everything is working fine from my NAS, but i give up on the Android box.

I am almost sure thats is a permissions issue, but I've tried everything without success .

Ty anyway for all the help

Me pasa lo mismo con mi Nvidia Shield TV pro, no reconoce mi disco externo

Make sure you have share files via network checked on Shield.

I put all my movie folders in the NVIDIA_SHIELD folder on my external HD so I could easily write to it from my computer.

When I login from my computer I can always connect to server on Shield but sometimes can not 'see' the external HD.

I made a Windows shortcut to the external on Shield like \\server_name\name_of_external_drive\NVIDIA_SHIELD and use it to access my folders from Windows.

But, on Shield, Emby did find my folders under /storage/++++++++++/folder_name

Oh, sorry... thought we were talking about a Shield and then re-read first post.... doh
