Hey guys @@softworkz,

Currently I am having issues playing media on devices which need transcoding to play the file. E.g my Oneplus 5T phone manages to direct play x265 encoded files and Emby works like a charm for that device. However when I try to watch on a notebook or PC which needs to transcode the x265 into x264 the video never starts or just stops after a few seconds. I restarted the emby server and the whole windows server multiple times but that does not solve the problem. I attached the server logs for you.

Happy2Play

Not much in the logs.

Have you tried restarting the Machine?

Have you tried disabling Hardware Acceleration? Or selectively disabling HWA Decoding or Encoding?

I know there are improvements in 4.4.x.x but not sure how much longer it will be in beta.

Hey Happy2Play, hardware acceleration really broke it for me. I turned it off, restarted the server and everything works fine. Turned it on again for testing and nothing worked anymore. Anyway I will keep it turned off. I am just currious because it worked about half a year just fine and then suddenly yesterday it stopped working at all.

It's just the integrated graphics of the cpu but yes, it is possible. Anyway I am going to swap out hardware soon so I am not looking further into that. I will test hard acceleration with the new hardware again.

@@Ghostsailor - Please choose "Advanced" for hw acceleration and make sure that the following is NOT selected:

DX11VA Intel® HD Graphics 4600 - H.265 (HEVC)

Anyway, this will be fixed in the upcoming 4.4 release.
