Now some of my video willl not play and i get ... Shared object "libdav1d.so.3" not found, required by "libavcodec.so.58"

Does anyone know

a) how to fix this or

B) how to downgrade back to dav1d version 0.5.2

I had version 4.4.0.23 installed, then I upgraded dav1d via a pkg upgrade in FreeNAS jail.  I have since upgraded to 4.4.0.25 and still have the issue - attached log was from 25.

So, i was able to fix it, probably not the accepted way, but it will work for now...i would recommend no one upgrade their dav1d to version 0.6.0 though.

i found a copy of version 0.5.0 in the Freebsd 12 release 1 repository.

I uninstalled dav1d version 0.6, which also uninstalled emby

i then did pkg add -f https://pkg.freebsd.org/FreeBSD:12:amd64/release_1/All/dav1d-0.5.0.txz

then

pkg add -f https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases/download/4.4.0.25/emby-server-freebsd11_4.4.0.25_amd64.txz to reinstall emby

All is working again

This also worked to fix the transcoding issue I was experiencing after upgrading to 4.4.0.24 and simultaneously updating the associated packages in the emby jail.

We've updated this lib for the next build. Thanks.

Just plunged into FreeNAS 11.3 and can report the same issue that OP has, fixed the same way.

I am on the latest beta.

I added emby (recent stable) to the freenas community plugin section. That stable can be easily updated.

hey guys

I have it exactly the other way around: I upgraded to Emby 4.4.0.40 on FreeNAS (underlying 11.3-R7) and I get

"Shared object "libdav1d.so.4" not found, required by "libavcodec.so.58""

I guess I need to update to dav1d-0.6? but when I do a pkg install dav1d it say I already have the newest ... and looking in

https://pkg.freebsd.org/FreeBSD:11:amd64/release_1/All/ I do not find it ...

any suggestions? :)

thanks and br

how did you install emby? in the very beginning ? which version did you start with? (was it 4.2.1.0 or 4.3.x.x)

first time I installed it from the FreeNAS addons

Since they are always a bit behind in versions I used the steps on emby.media to install the updates

so far worked without problem...

can you login to your emby installation and post the output of (plugins -> emby -> 3 dots -> shell, it should say root@jailname)

cat /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf

Update: got it, there was another file in /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos ... something about iocage ... removing that as well did the trick

thank you again for your help!

hey again

1st of all: thanks for your help, really do appreciate it

I did change as said, didn't change anything when using pkg update

I also moved the file /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf (as mentioned above) aside and pkg update did change but restarting emby afterwards and still the same problem

also I'm sorry I didn't realise that was meant with "First, make sure your FreeBSD system is configured for latest packages."
