Skopin 9
Hi everyone, I've got an issue that just started a few days ago. None of my 4K HDR movies will play audio when viewed on my TCL Roku TV. When viewing the stats for nerds (as well as on the dashboard), it shows that it is direct playing, which is odd because they usually direct stream. All files are encoded using the same settings (HEVC in the MKV container with the audio source being untouched from the source disc). Last week, the same files played with no issues, and I have made no changes to any part of my setup. 1080p files still play with no issues, although they do direct stream rather than direct play, and the audio is transcoded as expected. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can't watch any of my 4K movies as of now.

speechles 1917
Unfortunately it looks like Roku has removed support for pass-through of TrueHD on the RokuTV models. We were allowing support for pass-through on these models as earlier firmware models supported it. Now that firmware 9.2 is out it looks like this has been broken or removed. We will update our capabilities to account for this. This means TrueHD on RokuTV will now transcode to AC3. With HEVC this may introduce the green effect again. Apologies. This is the best we can offer at this moment.
ebr 14904
Hi. Please test this with the beta version of the app. Thanks.

Skopin 9
Hi. Please test this with the beta version of the app. Thanks. The beta version is working. Thanks! This gives me something in the interim while the main branch is updated.

ebr 14904
It was already transcoding the audio though, and still is for the non-4K movies. Not according to your stats for nerds above. This is why the beta now works for you. Thanks.
Skopin 9
Not according to your stats for nerds above. This is why the beta now works for you. Thanks. I meant prior to last week. This issue just started last week. Before then, it would transcode the audio like it's doing in the beta version. And it still is transcoding the audio for all of my non-4K files.
