Georg.E 2
Hi, 1. I finally reorganized my Music Library but I see errors in displaying the Artist "B.B. King". Please find screenshots attached. It is always shown as "B.B", nothing more. I did not see other examples until now... Additionally, I am wonderring, how the Discnumbers are parsed / displayed: - Sometimes, it could be, that a disc number has format like: 01/02, 1, 1/2, 1 - [Name of the Disc (String)] Is it possible to display the name? Or is there another tagfield for this? - Why is "Disc 1" never shown in the album page if there are multiple discs? BR, Georg
Luke 37028
hi @@Georg.E How is the artist name tagged into the file?
Luke 37028
01/02, 1, 1/2 These are supported. Disc names are currently not supported, but it's possible for the future. Thanks.
Luke 37028
- Why is "Disc 1" never shown in the album page if there are multiple discs? It's something we can look into. Thanks.
Georg.E 2
Hi Luke, sorry for replying so late. Tags are Standard - after teh "Dot" at the End, there is an "&". Or What do you mean? Interesting thing is, that if I go into the the folder on the Emby-Site, it is displayed correctly. Think this is a Display Issue in the Folders View. there is displayed only 2 times "B.B", nothing more. Regards, Georg
Georg.E 2
... and my old problem still exists, please find Screenshots Attached for "boxing Banjo - Round #1" BR, Georg
Georg.E 2
Hi, any news about my questions? Is the problem for the last the '#' within the name of the file? If yes, why could that not be fixed? Naming is like you suggested in the articles. BR, Georg

Luke 37028
Are you still having an issue with this using Emby Server 4.4?
Georg.E 2
Now I converted all WAV-Files into FLACs and the most problems are gone. But as I can see, emby cuts the folder Names with a ".". Example: B.B. King --> B.B ... and new in Explorer: In emby it is displayed as: Peter I: Maybe this could be fixed. I fixed it manually by changing it. BR, Georg
PenkethBoy 2063
interesting not seen this before i have R.E.M. (folder name has to be R.E.M in windows) and that is recognised fine by emby but emby will use the mbz tags if they exist first So.. can you show a screenshot of the mp3tag extended tags screen (or similar from another program) for a bb king or Tschaikowsky song as i suspect it might be tag related Or if you do not have tags then the file will be looked up by name of folder (AA) and song - which might be that the url gets mangled if it has "unusual" characters or possible mbz chokes at the other end etc Edited October 14, 2020 by PenkethBoy
Georg.E 2
I do not see any suspicious Tags ... And the folder does not contain any special chars: \\...\Multimedia\Musik\Klassik\Peter I. Tschaikowsky Regards, Georg Edited October 15, 2020 by Georg.E

Georg.E 2
Now I have change the library path and rescanned everything - it went back, renaming has to be done again. Screenshot from Emby of teh folder of : Then navigating to "[Kein Album" (No album): Metatag-Editor (folder): 1 File selected: ... and this is what Windows shows: Best wishes, Georg
PenkethBoy 2063
use Mp3Tag to view all your metadata - as that usually the problem once you have an a song selected press ALT+T and it will bring up the extended tag dialog - take a screenshot and post here
Georg.E 2
It's the same with this, too (see Metadata-Window below... ) but here's another one: On 10/15/2020 at 8:25 PM, Georg.E said: I do not see any suspicious Tags ... And the folder does not contain any special chars: \\...\Multimedia\Musik\Klassik\Peter I. Tschaikowsky Regards, Georg
PenkethBoy 2063
you dont have an AlbumArtist tag - that might be your problem
Luke 37028
Is there an album.nfo file in the folder?
Georg.E 2
? I can do that. But this is not really logical. I have many Files like that and I notice this error only with Artists containing 2 dots, "B.B. King" --> "B.B" (like described before).
PenkethBoy 2063
Its very logical - as thats how Albums are assigned to Artists - with AA tags - as with most if not all music players the Artist/Atrists tags are for "additional" artists who appear alongside the AlbumArtist on specific songs you can do things outside what emby expects with tags and/or folder structure - but expect oddities like above - or follow the wiki/knowledge base articles and/or use picard to add correct tags to your music and problems disappear

Georg.E 2
Hi @Luke, I changed it but it did not help. The result is the same. I added albumartist but it did not change after the rescan.
