@ebr Quirky issue.

If I log into my account on the Shield then switch to my daughter's, watch something then back out, as I do it switches back to my name at the top, with my libraries showing, but with my daughter's Continue Watching row displayed and my Next Up TV row.

Don't think 83 introduced this, as I remember seeing it a few times since you added the EHS.

If I try to switch users, it says "Switch to Master", which is also displayed in the header page. I have a screenshot I can upload if needed.

Just submitted in-app logs (user=Master).

What happens when you try?


It transcodes down to 1080p.

What's the advantage of this exo player anyways? The current player works well. Why are we trying to move to Exo? It seems to have way too many problems.

Exo is already in place, this is just an updated version of it. ;-)

I find volume levels are high with .83g. but I'm missing audio in some movies

I've seen this a couple times in .82 also, just couldn't duplicate it with any consistency 

 

I would swap accounts, play around a little and then all of a sudden I was back in the other account

 

 

I can almost duplicate this all the time now.  

 

-Log in with account 1

-Switch to account 2

-Click Back

-The screen flashes account 1's Home Page real quick and changes the icon at the top to account 1's profile icon.

-Then the Home Screen automatically refreshes back to the correct account 2's Home screen which you switched to earlier, but the icon at the top now still shows account 1's icon even though you're on account 2's profile.

 

This is using the EHS and no passwords on the accounts.  Not sure, but maybe the previous account info needs to be flushed or something when swapping accounts.  Clicking Back flashes the previous accounts EHS real quick before showing the correct one, but leaves the previous account user icon at the top

I have no audio in ANY of my movies or tv shows, no matter the audio or video format,  on my Nvidia shield in my bedroom where I only use the tv speakers. Everything worked fine before the update.

As I only use the tv speakers on this shield, emby always do a local downmix, both on the auto- and the 'manual downmix' setting.

 

I have 2 more shields , one in the living room and one in my home theater, both connected to receivers and there I have sound, so one reason to this problem could be a problem with the downmix feature.

Sounds like something wrong with the DOWNMIX TO STEREO option.

I have just set my Shield to DOWNMIX, but my soundbar is still receiving Dolby Audio.

Updated to .83, now all my Blue-ray rips are transcoding and buffering, on one of my Android boxes (Nvidia Shield is OK).  Prior to this version, everything played correctly.  I also tested on a similar, but less powerful box and it is Direct Playing of the same video.....

 

Here it "Men in Black" Blueray rip "direct playing" on my Beelink GT Mini 2 running version 1.7.80.

When I play the same video on my more powerful Beelink GT King Pro (Amlogic S922), it transcodes and unwatchable............

 

Subtitles or turned off and only DD selected, not any HD audio codecs.....

Two different devices, one still on the 80 and it works perfectly........... The device that I updated to 83 has the issues...........

I understand but I'm confirming that you never updated to 81 or 82 because 83 contains no changes in this area.

I understand but I'm confirming that you never updated to 81 or 82 because 83 contains no changes in this area.

I don't recall what version I was running prior to the update.......  Since it now requires transcoding, my miniPC does not have enough grunt to transcode the HEVC files on the fly, which causes the buffering.  All my devices support HEVC hardware decoding.

 

I can check some of my other devices.

 

Edit:  Opened another device Beelink GTKing (Amlogic S922x) and it also is transcoding so it is buffering..... It is running version "81".  The device (Beelink GT1 mini2 >> Amlogic S905X3) running version "80" is direct playing.

Edit 2:  My Beelink GT1 Mini2 (Amlogic S905X3) running verson "80" is direct playing.

These devices are connected to the same Yamaha AVR that connects to the same Samsung 4k TV.

There is no playback in that log...

I sent a new log now 19.25 CET where I playback 4 different series, just short plays for around 5-10 seconds which I guess is enough for them to be available in the log right?

I've attached a server log for these playbacks as well.

A lot of subtitle junk in the logs I see, but search for modern family, the morning show, our planet and truth be told.

There should be a transcode log for the last item you played.  It transcoded and looks like with no audio track at all.
