1.7.81: App not displaying when movie is 3D

Best Answer Dibbes , 15 February 2020 - 09:29 AM

Yes, the Language info is the same, just displayed differently. As @FrostByte says, the same goes for subtitles, yes...

this is resolved in .82 as well! Great!

Top is webclient, where it's displayed, bottom is from the Android TV app on a Shield. It's the same movie, not versioned (Just one version of this movie in this library and in this folder, so no chance of this being the normal 1080p)

Also the language track is displayed differently...

Are you sure the audio is different?  If you navigate to that option and drop it down, what do you see?

No, the audio is the same, it's just displayed differently... I prefer the way the webpage displays it, as I don't have to drop down to see which English track is selected, English DTS-HD 7.1, English DTS-5.1 or English AAC-2.0... They all display as English. I think this is because DTS-HD/DTS-5.1/AAC-20 are too long to display in this box...

Similar situation with subtitles.  I very often have PGS, ass, and srt subtitles all in English for testing. The details page just says "English" though unless I scroll up and click the box.  You don't have to do that with the web client , or other clients, you can tell without scrolling up and clicking the box which one it's going to use when you click play.

Right so the information is exactly the same in both apps it is just that it overflows in the TV presentation.

The web app allows these fields to expand way out to the right.  We don't have the same kind of space in the TV layout and also we try to balance things out on the screen better because we have a defined display area (an exact size/shape as opposed to the free-form web layout).

Presently, I think that field display is wrapping to a second line (that cannot be seen).  I'll try and stop that so that you can see more of it at least.

The Samsung app displays just like the web client though.  Someone is doing it wrong :)

Can the subtitle box be moved over to the right a little more and the audio box expanded some?

Problem is that some of the longer audio tracks names get chopped.   If you want to line the right side of the subtitle box with the right edge of the movie description there seems to be a lot of room there

I don't think it has to go over much, but it looks like there may be some room and still make it look good

Agree, it looks very good in .84 now.  In most cases for me it doesn't chop it off at all

Why is your video titled "English"...?

Because that's how I named the files. I have 2 versions of this movie here, English and Spanish:

\\nas03\Movies\2000s\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) - English 1080p BluRay DTS-HD MA 5.1 x264.mkv

\\nas03\Movies\2000s\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) - Español 1080p HEVC AC3 5.1 H.265.mkv

it was easier for the kids to figure out which is which on an earlier iteration on the Apple TV... and I don't feel like renaming the movies I have multiple versions of now...  :)

Okay, good.  Just wanted to be sure we weren't applying a language to the video stream somehow.

Here's a bit of an extreme example of what my library looks like, but not all that unique for me: (it's also the reason I'd like to be able to present the metadata in various languages, depending on the user-profile...)

@ebr By the way, when there are more than 3 versions of a movie in the folder, the 3D is not displayed...
