You know, that's one of those ones that's been on my "to fix" list in my head for ages and keep forgetting. I'll raise a bug for it now so I don't forget again :)

Hey guys,

SFNetwork recently helped us out by reviewing the android app over in android central forums:

 http://forums.androidcentral.com/android-applications/341947-media-browser-android-client.html

Is there anyone who might be willing to do the same for Scott's app over in wpcentral forums?

http://forums.wpcentral.com/windows-phone-apps/

Thanks.

I threw a little post on to Lee's thread. Not sure what to post right now. I'll see if people post there then I can respond to them.

I would love to leave some comments on it, but in all honesty, as a WP7.8 user the app is little more than a collection cover viewer. In fact if I wasn't so much involved and had just bought this app I would be pretty pissed off as it's next to useless for WP7 (Sorry Scott).

So as much as I want and bought this app I would personally remove support for WP7 if it's never going to be useable.

I think WP7 was dead in the water the minute it floated... Pretty cheap shot by Microsoft that tbh.

If i was Scott I'd drop WP7 support. Far too much hassle.

You can get the htc 8x for about £150 brand new. I can't see why people aren't all over it. I'm still reluctant to upgrade from it as it just ticks all the boxes....

Does the moliplayer work for wp7? Could it be offloaded to that?? You have to buy it, but i guess it's better than nothing!!

Personally I'd buy a £60 lumia 520 over any wp7 phone....

I agree if its just so disjointed creating both apps I can't see it being worth the time and effort, and yeah I probably will get a cheapey wp8 in the new year, but my omnia 7 has been chugging along ok and I don't use it for much more than music so if I was able to stream it decently then it gets around only having 8gb.

I just think that any newcomers who buy this app for wp7 devices would be rightly disappointed, so it might be wise to avoid that.

Yea it's obviously up to Scott, but he, Tikuf and myself and poured a lot of man hours into video streaming in wp7. At this point we just can't afford to tie up anymore of Tikuf's time with it, so if we're going to do it, it's probably going to require a custom video player from Scott. And in the dev area we're talking about all kinds of new things so at some point you just have to move forward. It's Scott's call though, obviously.

Wifes got a lumia 520 no flash on an average camera, but sd slot and otherwise can't fault it...

Using the Windows lumia 520 here too picked it up for this same reason mentioned...imo not a bad little phone at all for €90 + €4 for client ...just bought & reviewed MB client too on WP8. This is my media browser remote but i would love if the phone app could launch titles in MBC from the "play on" option in the phone app rather than needing MBC to be open before hand...everything else is spot on & money well spent on both !!

Hey Scott slightly off topic on the app itself but why is it that wpcentral posts a new article for every update that MoliPlayer gets yet I have not seen a single new article for the many updates you have been implementing in the MB Windows Phone app? I know you probably don't have the answer for that but I just don't think its right, people are missing out! :\

I plan on getting them to do an article when Live TV comes. By the time I thought about asking them to do an article with some of the UI changes, it was a bit late.

Awesome that's a great idea, I was thinking the Live TV feature would be the best way to get the WP community to rally around your app as well. As far as I am aware there aren't any Live TV apps in the windows phone store so this alone could set the MB app apart from everyone else.

Well I've finally ditched the Omnia 7 as I picked up a Lumia 920. So no more complaining from me. :)
