Make sure you did all of the steps on the install page.

this is what I did.

Install Emby Server on FreeBSD 11.2:
sysrc emby_server_enable="YES"
service emby-server start

However, Im doing this remotely, and I noticed at the bottom of the instruction page:

Run Emby Server:
Open your web browser and visit http://localhost:8096 to run the Emby Server startup wizard.

I never got to the startup page but perhaps I need to be local to do this.
I'll fiddle when i get home.

But it sounds like you skipped the other steps.

Yeah, im not sure what Im missing.  I did forget to mention that i did verify that my dependencies are up to date.  What am i missing?

I want to add:  my emby app on my nvidia shield plays videos and my emby app on my phone works too.  I've cleared my cache on my laptop and i still get the errors in firefox and chrome

thanks for you help, Admin.

I decided to delete my emby Jail and reinstall with the directions at the posted link.  Now no more streaming errors.

Newer versions sometimes require new dependencies. It's good practice to add the dependencies list so it will install any that are missing. If you just install the new server pkg and the dependency is missing, you usually get playback errors.

Depending on the Emby version you're upgrading to, you may also need to switch the jails pkg version from quarterly to latest or vice versa. That will be listed on the beta install instructions as well.
